I stayed in a courtyard view room. Upon entering the room and looking out the window, I realized that it is not a view of a beautiful courtyard with greenery, it is actually a view of the outside front entrance into the hotel. Meaning if you have the curtains open, anyone can clearly see inside of your room that is either visiting the hotel or the nearby restaurants or shops. There are no sheer curtains for privacy, just black out curtains. So there is little opportunity for sunlight inside the rooms without being fully exposed and on display. The rooms are small and sterile, no real decorative elemets, didn't feel cozy. The bed felt cheap and uncomfortable, and made a loud sound every time you sat on it. The bathroom was nice, and the shower was large with a rain showerhead. There are 4 floors to the hotel with the rooftop being on the 4th floor. The rooftop is a large size, with a very small pool. It's basically the size of a large hot tub. The pictures on the website make it seem larger. The furniture on the rooftop is a bit unkept and beat up. This seems to be a popular spot for locals to party, so there are nights where there is a dj and the music is blaring inside of the hotel rooms. The hotel is supposedly near a beach, but you cannot walk to it, there is a lot of construction, you will have to take a taxi to a nearby beach about a 10 minute drive away. $40 taxi one way or use one of the 2 local drivers the hotel uses for $15 one way. Centrally located, clean, updated, good AC, excellent rooftop bar/terrace. The owner greated us personally on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. Shadia was extremely helpful when we needed help figuring out how how the AC worked. Also got a great deal from the rental car agency they work with.

A Litlle Rough, But A Good Hotel

Good hotel overall- comfortable and nice rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. Couple things I would point out to prospective guests who are very particular and/or have high expectations (which is not us): this hotel has a new feeling to it and at the same time seems to be in a bit of disrepair and or has the look of a place that ran out of money before they could finish the details of the painting, carpets and trim. There’s a lot of scuffs scrapes and damage to the walls in all of the common areas, drywall mud and paint overspray, and much of the trim and tile work appears hastily or incompletely finished. This had no bearing whatsoever on our stay as we enjoyed it, but people who are coming to expect a hotel with such a high rating might be a bit surprised at how rough around the edges some things are. The rooms themselves were quite nice so don’t be put off. The rooftop restaurant also has excellent food and a nice view. My wife got the red snapper and I got the skirt steak and both were outstanding. The breakfast served in Mar and Tierra Is also outstanding. Hotels.com indicated that the parking was free for this hotel however it is not except on Sundays . You must pay using a kiosk outside either with Guilder coins or the Flowbird app which is a rip off. The app requires that you preload at least US $12 onto an account which was $10 more than we needed, and our last nite in curacao so we had no coins. on top of that there’s a 10% fee to transfer the money into the App.

Extremely load music and screaming

Extremely load music until 4AM on roof top. We were on 2nd floor and it was horrible with people screaming all night. It's cheaper for a reason. Don't stay unless you stay up that late.
