A Cautionary Review of This Hotel

Do not be misled by the hotel’s photos—this property falls far short of expectations. While there are a few positives, such as an aesthetically pleasing lobby and a basic yet satisfactory continental breakfast, the overall experience was highly disappointing. Upon entering our first room, we immediately encountered multiple issues: the television was inoperable, the refrigerator was dirty with dried residue on the shelves, and the hair dryer did not work. After notifying the front desk, they kindly offered to switch our room, which was appreciated—until further issues arose. In the second room, the hair dryer also did not work. After calling the front desk from my personal phone (as the in-room telephone was nonfunctional), I was assured that someone would address the issue, but no one ever arrived. Additionally, we noticed a pillowcase with a hole, cobwebs in the corners, carpets were stained and, most concerning of all, cockroaches in the room. This hotel has the potential to be a great stay, but it is clear that management does not prioritize room maintenance, guest satisfaction or cleanliness. Until significant improvements are made, I strongly recommend avoiding this property.

A very unique historic place. A bit outdated but really fits the overall colonial Williamsburg vibe. Learnt the rumour about it being haunted and got even more excited. Perfect location, good breakfast, amazing indoors pool with a hot tub, beautiful garden with a true redoubt from the battle times. Recommend to those who love history and interesting places.

For the price it was fine. The bed wasn't very comfortable. The rooms could use updating. Carpet in the room was stained and outdated. The staff was excellent, very accommodating. The location was great and easy for us to get to the places we wanted to go.
