If wanting a no thrills place to stay near Manchester Airport this is the one!
I used it overnight, slept well & had plenty of time for easy 10 min drive to airport. If solo or couple, this is a great find.
Reception person was friendly & had plenty of knowledge of local area.
Wouldn’t recommend it, especially not as a woman travelling solo. Checked in and out the same evening! Final straw was when I went to tell reception there was urine all over the toilet seat and I got shrugged off with “well men stay here too”...
A pleasant welcome, easy check in, clean and comfortable room at the rear of the property. A good nights sleep. Plenty of parking. Pleasant area with a choice of places to eat. A thoroughly good value and pleasant one night stay.
As I walked into the room there was a very strong smell of damp and mound. I woke up at midnight to loud tapping, when I turned on the light there was water pouring down the wall and hitting the carpet. I put a towel on the floor however this did not prevent the carpet as there was so much water. I had to move the bed as I was getting wet from the water coming through the roof. This continued all night, and then at 4am water started to come through the ceiling onto the wardrobe. As I left the property there was no one at reception to speak to about this, and there was a sign asking to just leave the key on the shelf. I will not be recommending this property to anyone, I will never stay there again, I am going to do my best for a full refund, and I would say that it is not safe for guests to stay.

Proprietors were very welcoming and helpful to arrange transport if you don't have your own
Only went for the night to get sleep but so noisy all night. Couldnt sleep! Every bit of movement could be heard . Doors slamming and people talking with little respect for customers wanting a sleep.

B&B near Manchester airport
Breakfast was not served until 9am and as I had to leave for my flight at 8.15 this was very disappointing as I had paid for and was looking forward to having breakfast before I left. Room Ok,
Nice place to stay. I thought sharing a bathroom might be difficult but it was fine. Owners were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Clean and comfortable for the night we stayed.
By far the worst lodge I have been to. Our bed was wet when we went in and the towels so when I asked to have it changed, apparently I were to be blamed for it?
Shocking service too. Their English was poor and at one point I had to get a polish interpreter (thank god I found one) to come and translate my problem to them. Never will I go there again and I will not advise you to go there either.
Sadly this B&B didn't live up to expectations. The 'housekeeper' was pleasant but english was not her native language and my husband did not understand her. The floorboards on the stairs and in the room were so creaky and loose we feared they would not last. The rooms, although were very clean, were tired. The shower was lethal! Once the water had eventually heated up it was impossible to reduce and would have scalded me if I had not turned it off immediately. The shower tap was so hot it almost burnt me. I had to rinse off the soap from the sink. Thank goodness I didn't wash my hair! There didn't seem to be anyone available in the evening to report this to before we went out.
The bed was comfy enough but the pillows were very hard and although I wasn't expecting the Hanging Gardens of Babylon as a view, I didn't appreciate the rubble of a building site.
We expected a buffet breakfast but this was limited to cereal and toast with hard boiled eggs and cheese. No marmalade for the toast! Coffee was instant and the 'juice' offered tasted artificial and powdered.
Finally it took almost 15 minutes for someone to answer the reception bell when we wanted to check out. I had expected someone to be available during this time.
This small, family run hotel was very charming, spotlessly clean. The people running it were very nice. It is close to Manchester, but you need a car really to make staying there practical.
