Lovely place, lacked some finishing touches

Bathroom very small and room was missing the finishing touches. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The spa treatments were great, bit pricey. The spa facilities were disappointing, not a big area and could have had some more loungers. Staff friendly and helpful.

We stayed in one of the rooms next to the Spa on the ground floor it was small and we heard a lot of noise from the rooms above. We got 3/4 star for a 5 star price. We were also charged £12 per day for parking even though we had paid £300 per night bed and breakfast.

We stayed in the side rooms, not in the main hotel. The heating wasn’t working, there was also a damp smell in the room that would not go away. The rooms needed some modernisation. The spa is more like a leisure club and is very small. Overall underwhelming but it is included in the stay, which is handy. The check in was fine and staff were helpful. Walkable and the location is amazing. Breakfast was lovely too.

This hotel is one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. Staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast had excellent variety and really nice. Room was large with a a separate sitting area. My husband didn’t like that the tv was in the sitting area so he couldn’t lie in bed and watch tv but I was really happy about that! Hot tub on our balcony was a delight. Cocktail bar was fab and was the pub and the food on offer. Loved our stay here

Had a warm welcome, a complimentary drink upon arrival, the hotel and area was extensively introduced and explained. Staff were wonderful, pool and spa area was gorgeous, and the food was delicious. Absolutely recommend this hotel and definitely re-visiting!!

Stayed one night in July 2025 for my mother’s retirement and was very disappointed. The room was unclean (marked bedding with hair and rose petals from previous guests, mouldy shower, cobwebs on the ceiling, dusty fixtures). The room was also hot with no air conditioning and very poor soundproofing. When I complained afterwards with photos, the response was dismissive. Instead of a proper redress, I was offered a discount on a future stay. Expedia had to step-in to provide compensation. Importantly, the hotel has self-rated its own five-star rating– and it shows. This was nowhere near genuine five-star standard.

Absolutely wonderful from the moment we stepped through the door! We have never been treated so well in any hotel before! Every single member of staff was perfect. Greeted with a glass of prosecco, chauffeur driven Bentley to a restaurant. Felt very special. Thank you each and every one of you who made our stay wonderful 😍

Bank holiday get away

last minute decision to go to the lakes on the final bank holiday weekend and booked Lakes hotel.I have been here on at least a dozen occasions and its my first choice everytime.Upon arrival,i was offered a glass of prosecco and check in was very quick.I was then shown to my room and case carried by Mark who explained how the hot tub worked and various other items in the lovely room.Enjoyed the spa facilities then had dinner in Mizoni fusion restaurant and the food was amazing.Then finished the evening in the hot tub on the balcony of the room.Check out the next morning was 11am but we were allowed to use the spa facilities and car park until 1pm which was great. The staff are fantastic,the hotel second to none,food brilliant and the spa facilities are the best in Bowness in my opinion.Location is brilliant too,a couple of minutes walk from Bowness bay. Cant wait to go back again soon.
