Breakfast time is too short, ends at 9am. Certain breakfast items, juice, sausage (which is poor quality) run out often 30 or more minutes before breakfast ends. Always told “we have no more” and I believe they only put a limited amount out. Also lobby bathrooms are not cared for. Often dirty and no toilet tissue, especially while overnight person sits around or can’t be found.

I stayed 4 nights and was charged over $800.00 because of a local industry function. I wasn't traveling with a pet but was placed on a pet floor and my room smelled like a wet dog. This was a nice hotel in 1980 something but yikes not anymore. The staff was nice, but they didn't replace the single serv coffee maker that had something growing in it. "Something Green in Water Reservoir" The TV didn't work correctly, and the mattress had a body impression that you would eventually end up sleeping in through the night.

Bad starting room….improved with new room
First night was terrible. Hotel is being remodeled and the room the first night was not habitable. AC needed servicing. It was loud and inefficient. Lights by bed didn’t work….wire was cut (remodeling issue). Shower didn’t work (remodeling issue). Coffee maker didn’t work (missing parts). Overall untenable room. Son was with me and I rented another room for him due to all the problems with the room. Next day got another (different) room. The new room was remodeled and ready for tenancy. No problems with the new room. Son was able to stay with me in the new room eliminating the need for a separate room. I feel the first night’s room should have been refunded due to its unfinished and uninhabitable state, and the fact that I had to get a second room so my son could sleep (due to AC noise and overall uninhabitable condition of first room). I was not offered any refund or discount.

The hotel is in an ok area. The restaurant next door smelled amazing. The hotel, well it was in rough shape. The elevators are so slow the stairs are a much quicker option. The carpet was the only thing in good condition, which is odd. The hallways are lit with a dull dingy yellow light The wall paper is coming off pretty much anywhere you look. There are water leak marks in the ceiling every several feet. Cement outside is cracked and stained. The entire hotel has a wierd not pleasant odor. The room was remodeled? I mean it smelled like new paint. All the smoke dectors were covered in plastic and taped off. The floor appeared new. The TVs were like 32 inch models The bathroom needed jesus. The bed was comfy. Severe lack of blankets. The AC was set to 70 and never shut off since it ever got down to 70 in the room. Totally not worth what I paid and I will not stay here again. We did not habe breakfast based on the condition of the hotel.

Upon check-in, my license was photocopied. This makes it easy for identify theft. The room was old, bathtub was rusty. The table was dirty with sticky and dried debris. There were signs about renovating but it was noisy well after 7pm. The hallway smelled of smoke. I stayed here a few months before and had a renovated room without carpet. This is why I stayed here again. I will not stay here again. I am willing to pay more for quality. I know it can be hard when understaffed and training new people but it is important to not let customers see the frustration or take it out on new employees. The tone of the lady at the front training the new female was not a positive highlight. Attitudes and 1st impressions are important. The customer is not always right but kindness, humbleness, and courteousness goes a long way. I had really like coming to LaQuinta and would refer people until this last visit. Disappointed to the core as I am a native of Winston Salem, NC.
