The Abbey Creek Inn is our go-to place for visits to Winthrop. It's conveniently located and the staff is always pleasant and helpful. While the property and room are somewhat dated, things are well maintained and pleasant enough. The pool always looks inviting and the walk down to the river is really sweet.

Great location to downtown Winthrop. Property clean and staff friendly. Can't beat the free breakfast, pool, hot tub, and other amenities for the price. Good place for families and friendly staff.

I would not recommend staying here. The room wasn’t clean when I arrived — surfaces felt grimy and the overall condition of the space seemed neglected. On top of that, the property was noisy due to construction and painting, which made it hard to relax or get decent sleep. The worst part, though, was the total lack of care from the staff. I contacted them about personal items I accidentally left behind — worth around $400 — and they didn’t even ask for my name or booking details. I was told “uh huh, there’s a note,” and that was it. No real effort to check, no follow-up, and no professionalism. I’ve stayed in plenty of places that at least try to help when something goes wrong. This wasn’t one of them.

Perfect place to stay in Winthrop. The bonus is backside of the property is the river and u can sit in the evening around fire place and if lucky u will get deer visitors to say hi
