We didn't get the two deluxe rooms we had booked and paid for. Despite booking both rooms at the same time, the two rooms we did get were at opposite ends of the building and on different floors. The building is very linear but there is only a lift at one end, which is the reception end but all the other facilities are at the opposite end of the building and therefore difficult to access for those of more limited mobility. On the positive, the rooms were really quiet and well appointed.

Nice hotel but needs a few adjustments

Lovely manager - very accommodating and friendly. We stayed in a suite which was beautiful. Me and 2 bridesmaids stayed the evening before my wedding in a family room. This was large and beds were comfy - pillows could be softer. We had breakfast delivered to the room and the charge waivered which was kind. The cooked breakfast nice - but the continental food wasn’t fabulous. The service for our evening meal was slow and they got a few of our orders wrong. The pool, sauna and steam room were standard and could probably be updated but parts of the thermae spa area were nice. Especially the sofas and relaxation swing. Despite the negatives, I would be happy to stay again.

We thought as it’s a spa hotel/golf course etc that it would relatively quiet, but being woken up at 00:30am by a load of noisy lads sharing the rooms one down from us, being kept up by them until 2:30am and constantly hearing them bang on doors and shouting for their friends, stinking the place out with weed, and then not being able to get through to the night manager to ask them to have a word to keep it down, it was ridiculous. Other than the noisy neighbours and missing night manager, the beds were okay, but the bathroom sink was clogged which made it difficult to do anything without the sink filling up quickly. Pretty disappointing to be honest, definitely not staying again.

A very underwhelming break.

Was an okay stay. TV did not work, and was a very old and outdated for the type of room we booked. Shower was broken and water did not go cold, so was unbearably hot. Balcony wasn’t great, not suitable to sit and chill regardless of weather. Pillows were very uncomfortable. For the room type we had a “deluxe double” it was a very standard room and was not worth the money. For a Spa stay I would expect more for the money than just what the normal gym payer would get. Shared pool, sauna, jacuzzi etc. No privacy at all. We also was never given robes in our room, which was meant to be included. Overall, for the price, and the fact that almost everything we had to pay extra (not cheap either) I’m not too impressed, and personally would not stay again.

Room was a good size, good tea and coffee facility in the room, bathroom was nice, clean with a really good shower. TV was a bit on the small size and was on a weird angle in the corner of the room, had the usual selection of TV channels. I had a nice balcony overlooking the golf course. On site leisure facilities were good. Restaurant food was excellent although the menu a bit limited, bar fully stocked with plenty of variety, staff were excellent, professional and polite. building itself was a bit dated and internal decoration could do with a revamp but at the price it beats the spots of the competition. I will definitely be staying there again next time I'm in the area.
