We asked for a up grade they said no because they were full but it low season and staff kept telling us that they were very low on guest and it was noticeable VIP needs to be better or at least follow through because it was not busy season

Everything was perfect. The only thing I did not like was the food I’m not a picky either but this time the football was not great. We usually go to resorts twice a year and I’ve been to this one at least twice, but the food gotten worse not many varieties and same thing every day I understand it was off-season but come on. I’ve seen better shows. The Barceló family needs to upgrade a little. I really appreciate the hard-working people in the resort.

We been in Quintana Roo 3 times. Barcelo Maya Palace was the best. The beach was awesome, food - amazing, property absolutely beautiful and you have excess for 4 other resorts, restaurants, buffets and pools.Also bus transportation available there! for family vacation this place is awesome

I stayed at the barcelo maya palace with my mother and 2 kids for 7 days .. let me start by saying that I felt so lost being that this was my first time here .. I didn’t get no tour resort is sooo big I got lost the first few days .. but I what did learn within the first 3 days is that there is a tour bus which passes the lobby every 10 mins which goes around all of their area and other resorts connected to them . I also loved that the resort had a water park right next to adult pool drinks watered down that I had to ask for triple shot , the food at the buffet was good just gets boring even though they do have lots of options . Getting reservations was a little annoying your best bet is go right away and make your reservations soon as you get there due to availability BUT if you don’t have reservations at least for 1-2 days you can also try Walking in! Our best restaurant was the Tokyo at the maya mall . Caribe was also a great restaurant and service by Jesus Gonzalez and angel carbo was amazing .. I also finally would like to say that the beach had so much sea weed so I definitely didn’t get to enjoy the beach .. they charge you a small charge of about $20 once you check in supposedly to try keep beach clean etc. Last but not least id to mention the service overall it was definitely great and I would definitely like to visit again!

Hotel is anazing . Staff is very helpfull, clean everywhere . Food quality in buffets good. French restaurant and seafood restaurant in msya palace excellent fois and excellent service . I wouldn't recommend the Spanich restaurant in maya beach. Overall great hotel, with lots of amenities for everyone. I stayed with kids and there is a lot to do for kids. Definitely recommend for families. Consierges are amazing ,they give you what you want and leave you alone. They don't bother you for selling things or packages. Nobody bothers you or pushes you to buy something. I loved it. You can have peaceful, relaxed vacation. Karent was our tour representative and she was amazing. Definetly recommend her if you want to buy tours. Great hotel and we will definitely come back

Good property with good overall amenities. The only drawback was the lack of poolside food during lunchtime which most resorts have. Also food was not allowed outside the buffet area.

Property is great! I would only suggest, being in Mexico I would have expected a bit more Taco Stations throughout buffet areas. I kind of had to go looking when wanted a good taco. The place was a great and will definitely return!

My experience at Barcelo left much to be desired this visit. This was my second stay at Maya Palace. The food was just okay, and I had terrible stomach issues while there and after returning to the states. I hope they are not using still water for drinks or to wash the fruit. Now, for the part I hated most. I felt as if I was being discriminated against by my brown brothers and sisters. I recall several times being asked to eat at the other buffet, "because there was no available seating", but clearly there were tables open. The other dining room had less air conditioning which was off-putting. I was often ignored by staff when seated to get cold water and be served drinks. These interactions are called micro-aggressions and I was surprised at being treated this way. My feelings were confirmed when a person I met during my stay communicated his concerns to me first. Barcelo, please do better with this. Speak to your staff about treating ALL visitors with dignity and respect. This is not the 1950's and 1960's. Then you press the staff to obtain reviews but mistreat guests this way. I will not be returning for this reason because it occurred too often by the hostess and table services. .

Ot was good that you used your room # for towels. They promised a concierge at the palace building desks and there were none. You had to walk all the way to the front desk/lobby to make Ala cart reservations or ask questions. My phone in my room was dead so unable to inquire from the room.
