Clean room good staff and a couple of nice restaurants.

We happened to choose the Japanese style room for our family of four - it was amazing! one tatami room with the four futons, and another slightly smaller with a low table to sit around. A long hallway ran along the two rooms with the sink and plenty of space to store toiletries and change, and then the shower/Japanese bath at the end of the hall. Coffee and tea supplies were there in the room, along with typical Japanese amenities like yukata and slippers. We also signed up for the breakfast buffet each day, and it also was wonderful, with a wide selection of Japanese and western food items. Waffles and omelettes (by special order) were included. The staff in the eating area and the front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel also had a small laundry room with two small washers and dryers which we used. The hotel location is pretty decent. It's about a ten minute walk from Niigata station, maybe fifteen walking with suitcases. After this experience, this will definitely be the place we stay in Niigata in the future - and I recommend the Japanese style room over the Western style rooms.

Staff are good.

The room was tiny. There was virtually no place to sit outside of the room or in it. The breakfast room was crowded. The hotel was clean The food was good but two of the three travellers had stomach issues after breakfast on several days We would not return to APA We also found communication with the hotel prior to our arrival difficult.

Central location, easily walkable from Niigata Station, Pier Bandai, Bandai Bridge and other attractions. Between the hotel and train station are lots of restaurants giving one many dining choices. The hotel itself has several restaurants, but we only tried the cafe for breakfast and the bakery for a snack. Everything was excellent. We plan on visiting Niigata again and will be staying here again.

I was rather intimidated by this listing considering how automotated the whole process is. It’s all done with thorough written instruction and an iPad at check-in/out. I felt like I was doing a scavenger hunt on The Amazing Race or something. Stay the course and read everything carefully. My stay was even better than I anticipated considering how in-human the process was. Clean, big, safe comfortable room. The walls are thin, so being quiet using headphones is most polite. Try not to use the washing machine too late. You’re about a fifteen minute hike from the Toyosaka train station which in turn is like a half hour train ride from Niigata. It’s a great room, space and amenities for the price. And there are good places to eat in town. Don’t be freighted by all the intense instruction. It’ll pay off! Would definitely return.
