The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Downtown Yangon.... it’s basic but clean. It’s a little noisy from road noise, to be expected in Yangon so not a complaint.
Decent and price reasonable. convenient location. Staff very helpful in getting and bargaining with taxi drivers. Allow guests to take away uneaten breakfast as packed lunch.
This a good hotel in the heart of Yangon. Don’t let outside appearances fool you; Inside you will find a well kept and somewhat upscale hotel with all the amenities and more than you would expect for a budget hotel. The staff are friendly. Speak English reasonable well and are very accommodating. The breakfast were good and on our last day because we had an earl y flight they packed us a breakfast to go, The area is older and there is a lot of street activity (great for people watching) and we felt totally safe. Walking distance to the main train station. Airport is some distance and expect to pay $10 USD for taxi,
The room was spacious with a good outlook. Bathroom looked newly decorated. Good to havwe a window that was able to be opened. No noise problem even though facing the street.
Nice hotel in a good location within walking distance of Boyoke market.
Staff very friendly. Breakfast better than average. Reasonably comfortable bed.

I would recommend this hotel, which is western-style. Hotel in general and rooms were very clean. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with fantastic views of the city from the 9th floor dining area.

The WiFi doesn’t work very well and the staff could not help with this. Also, the front desk staff have very limited English skills. However, it is clean and quite comfortable and quiet- probably one of the better choices in Yangon.
My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.
The hotel staffs were extremely helpful and friendly. The receptionist was able to converse in English as well and tried to cater to our needs such as calling a cab for us and us leaving our room keys to their care. Also, because of the water festival, we requested for two sets of bathing towels and they were sent to us with no questions asked.
Overall, the hotel staffs were really awesome which made staying at the hotel really comfortable. Their rooms were spacious enough and had a couple of chairs which was great for us to have our meals and to talk about the day.
Amazing staff and extremely kind. We asked if we could change rooms after we checked in, because the first room had a terrible view (looking at the facade of the adjacent building). The staff was very understanding and helpful and we switched rooms. Much better!
The room was fine, at times a weird smell coming from the zink. Nothing extreme though, because we are sensitive to smells, and could bare with this one. Internet was relatively steady and bathroom was fine.
There is a small gym at the 7th floor where we worked out. A great Thai restaurant is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Taxi's are the best way to get around town.
We stayed at Grand Laurel Hotel for a total of four days with our two year old son. The hotel staff was wonderful and so eager to help! Our two year old enjoyed his stay as well since he got his very own twin bed and we got our own queen bed. Perfect.
This place is in a great location if you don't mind a little downtown noise. We come from Shanghai which is a big city so it didn't bother us. But if your looking for complete peace and quiet then maybe chose somewhere further north.
Great place for the price.
Good hotel. Walking distance from stores and food places. A good clean choice for the price

Nice place to stay. Better than my other hotel in Yangon. Good staff. My room didn't have Windows but it was what I paid for. Maybe need them in hindsight
