Not only is the Lake Yellowstone Hotel dinning room closed but the rest of the adjacent sitting space is also behind barriers. The food and service in the nearby Lake Lodge is good.
Not Worth It – Room Too Small and Poor Amenities
The room was much smaller than those in similar hotels and the price was double. The sink was oddly placed in the middle of the room instead of in the bathroom, which was inconvenient. The main restaurant was closed, and the main building was under maintenance—none of which was disclosed during the reservation process. Internet access was only available in the Lake Lodge, and the connection quality was very poor.
Property was under renovation so things were pretty bare bones.

We booked this cabin for the beginning of their travel season- late may. Upon arrival we checked in at the lake Yellowstone hotel, which is completely shut down for renovations, which normally wouldn’t matter except for the fact that that’s where most of the dining options within 40 miles are. We were never notified that the renovations were happening and that the restaurants would be closed. We were told at check in that the ONLY option for food was at a neighborong lodge a little down the road. The food there was basically cafeteria food at resort pricing.
The other issue we had with our stay was the bed. The cabin itself was cozy and clean, and super quiet, but the bed and pillows are garbage. The national parks should be ashamed of themselves for charging $300 plus a night to provide you with what they do for bedding. Springy mattresses that bow towards the middle, and pillows with basically no fluff or support.
DO BETTER national parks/xanterra!!!
We stayed in the cabin because nothing elsewas available. The price was outrageous. The cabin was stark.
I will give kudos to the staff who were very helpful despite the inadequacies of the facility.
We stayed in one of the cabins. Although they don't look like much from the outside they are fairly new inside and nicely decorated. They do seem to be overpriced for what they are but being inside the park is a big timesaver.

The property is very average. With so much of real estate available, it could have been so much more. The restaurant was closed, the rooms had a cold feeling (not temperature wise)
Amazing staff that are loaded with knowledge about the area. The wonderful staff member that helped us check in showed us on a map where to see all the bears, elk, wolves, mountain goats, and Bald Eagles. Literally every spot she shared with us was spot on ! Aside from that, the views are incredible and the hotel has a very fascinating story!
Everything was good. Personal was very hospitality.

Not what we expected, dining facility was under construction and put us in a non view room during the slow season - wouldn’t recommend this to anyone for the amount of money spent..
Staff was non welcoming - seemed like the same old grind kind of day for staff
The hotel and dinning room were closed, had to stay in a dirty cabin which had not been swept. No internet. We had to go eat at the lodge down the street and they had no heat for the two days we were there. Everyone in the restaurant had to wear hats and heavy coats to stay warm. The fries were cold. Also at the hotel the power was also out so no breakfast or coffee in the morning. Very disappointed.
Staff was helpful at check in and the folks in the cafeteria were nice, but the cabin was older and smaller. It served our purpose well and seemed clean, but I wouldn’t it’s not a resort, it’s a cabin. Kind of feels a bit like the staff cabins in the movie Dirty Dancing. : )
We generally had a good stay.
We thought we were going to stay in the Hotel. However, and despite what the confirmation said, we were put in a satellite lodge. There were no amenities in the lodge, and if one wanted breakfast, you had to drive a mile down the road to another facility. Also, there was no internet available.
Cabins were okay and clean. Easy access for autos.

The location was beautiful but we had no view from our room but the parking lot. The room was simple but adequate. There was no microwave in the room and I didn’t find one anywhere in our building.
