Staff is very friendly and facilities well maintained. Very quiet area with nearby beach and close walk to Enoden tram which can take you to Kamakura station or Enoshima in the opposite direction. Very close to some must visit sights with shopping and dining nearer to the station

Great spot for a budget visit to the beach!
Very clean and cute shared bathrooms and common areas in this house. We had a private room, which was nice as a couple, but there seemed to be other guests quietly socializing in the dining space/bar from time to time. Shower amenities are provided (even some extras, like sunscreen and face wash were in the women's restroom). Bring your own towels for showering though, otherwise you can pay to borrow some. We appreciated the hose outside to rinse off after the short walk back from the beach. Also, there's a convenience store right nearby, which is really nice because most restaurants were closed by the time we wanted dinner. No refrigerator in the room (didn't check if there's one available elsewhere) and eating/drinking is only allowed in the common area- a bit inconvenient, but pretty standard for this style of accommodation. Really nice, interesting, and attractive structure overall, the architecture and layout is unique and welcoming. We enjoyed our experience at Iza and would stay here again!

The rooms were stuffy and very crowded. As a hostel, we're used to being able to figure out food better than we were able to here. There was an issue with the booking and Expedia charged us the wrong rate but we were made to feel like it was our fault and that we should have been giving them more money. If we had seen the "real" rate, we never would have stayed here. Even the amount we paid for was more than what we were paying in Tokyo for better atmosphere and amenitites. We've travelled a lot. We wouldn't stay here again.

IZA is great.
Great staff, so friendly and helpful. Everything tidy and clean. IZA is close to the beach, and to some really nice restaurants/bars, plus sights of Kamakura. Definitely stay here!

Bring your earplugs and a towel! You can hear everything through the walls, but the rooms and bathrooms are basic and nice enough. No frills here, the breakfast that I could see was rice and tea. Extra charge for a bath towel. But it was very close to the beach, Hase Station and good restaurants.

Convenient! Friendly! Great music!
Very much enjoyed my time at IZA Kamakura. Staff are so helpful and chilled out. There's a bar and some food on site, but there's plenty locally as well. The bar area is just great for hanging out 'cause the dorm is tiny ;-) If you want to try SUP or surfing in Japan, then this town will float your boat!

Compact and cozy
It was a compact accommodation but a cozy one. Included breakfast was good. Staffs were very helpful and courteous. Located very close to the Hase railway station. This place rents bicycles to move about in the town.

Nice hostel near the water. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. The bar was a great addition and you can enjoy your drink on the patio. Lights out at 11am.

This might be a special case, but I must mention that when I arrived at the place, the person to welcome me and guide me around spoke fluent English, so this is a big plus. Other than that, they were quite friendly people, but having to share room with 3 other strangers was not a pleasant experience.

Near beach, sights and transport.
This is best hostel I stayed at in Japan. Nice option for meal cooked onsite. The location could not be better for the Beach or for the many other things to do in the area. The staff were helpful and friendly (and musical). I wish I had spent more time there. The whole area has tons to do from surf, Onsen, temples, shrines, shopping, food. This place really has alot to offer. But be prepared to walk as while they have very many places and things to do they are spread out as well.

Amazing value, great location, friendly service
It's a guesthouse so don't expect a lot of privacy but the place is clean, it's fun, the staff is so nice and friendly. I'd recommend it if you're on a budget and don't mind staying in a hostel.

Nice!
Very nice! Small room (but probably not for Tokyo), bathroom with tub (deep, Japanese style) and all standard amenities, fridge, boiler for tea/coffee, big screen tv. Very friendly reception. Clean and kept clean! Dull area, but that is where my work took me, so.. Would book again.

Great guesthouse, close to beach and attractions
I stayed at Iza Kamakura twice, at the beginning of my trip in July and at the end in August. It is very conveniently located 5 minutes from the Hase train station (on the Enoden line, 3 stations away from the station in Kamakura where it is connected to the JR station), 2 minutes from the beach, and about 10 minutes from the Great Buddha and Hasedera temple. This gives you the opportunity to visit both the Buddha and the temple before the tourists arrive in the morning, which is truly a big plus. There is also a post office about 2 minuets from the station. The staff is very friendly and the rooms and the bathrooms/restrooms are clean. It gets pretty lively at night, but after 11 pm, everything gets quiet. Basically, until 11 pm, it all depends on the other guests and how they behave. Luckily the beach is nearby and easy to escape to if needed. The only drawback I see is that there are very few restaurants in the area that remain open in the evening, thereby limiting your choices for dinner unless you go to Kamakura proper.
