Highly recommend this location, parking across the road in a payed private lot. Everything to see in York is walkable from the hotel. Great stay was had.

The hotel was well located near the centre and a Tesco nearby for those late night snacks. Overall, it was nice and clean with a varied and tasty breakfast in the morning. A couple negatives: The glasses were dirty with lipstick marks and the shower was rather weak.

A lovely stay, wish we could have stayed longer!!

Myself and my Husband stayed at the Hampton Piccadilly, which is very close to Clifford Tower and the Castle Museum, from Monday to Thursday 10th to the 13th March. We were there to meet up with good friends from Warrington for a sightseeing weekend. We had a lovely stay, nice, cosy, comfy and spacious room, tea and coffee facilities, please be aware there are no teaspoons, only wooden sticks which are no good when trying to fish a teabag out of a mug! So bring one with you. We had a very large screen tv ( the remote wasn't very straight forward but we sussed it in the end!). Our bed was very comfortable, quite low, so not sure if anyone with mobility issues would have difficulty getting in and out of bed? There is a large walk in shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The basin has hand wash and body lotion and a hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided. A complimentary breakfast is included with a good choice of hot food (although no fried eggs, boo hoo) and cold food and tea and coffee. Great staff, very welcoming and informative. We would definitely stay again!!

Overnight stay with hubby

Had an excellent nights stay in York at this hotel . Parking arranged in advance on line at q park The Shambles which was approximately a five minutes walk away . I used the hotels discount code obtained by ringing them and this cost £19 for 24 hours There is a car park much nearer to the hotel which may be worth checking as it may be cheaper. Couldn't find any fault with the hotel . Excellent location . Marvellous staff who were friendly and professional , and managed to get us checked in early. The room was spotless with a comfy bed , big shower , hair shampoo/conditioner, body lotion, hairdryer , iron and board and a small fridge . The buffet breakfast was superb with a great selection of hot and cold food There was even a waffle maker for use. The hotel is a few minutes walk from The Shambles and there are plenty of bars, restaurants , and shops nearby. I honestly couldn’t fault the Hampton by Hilton , and look forward to staying there again on our next visit to fabulous York
