Weekend break

Excellent hotel. Must have been recently refurbished as everything fresh and modern. Friendly staff - all helpful. Room itself clean and bed comfortable. Location good - 10 mins walk to the train station and York itself. Nice cafe/restaurants on doorstep. Went to the Italian opposite in the evening and pasta was delicious and reasonably priced. Yes great hotel especially for the price paid (they offer cheap deals).

3 nights stay

Arrived from Glasgow on Thursday 1st time in this hotel , hotel is lovely and very clean. Was given room 311 , facing car park. Was up till after 4am with the noise from the fans outside, was awful!! Sounded like it was vibrating through the bed with the droning noise. At 7.am approx I could hear a staff member banging a room door asking for room inspection then within seconds fire alarm went off , obviously not staff members fault but they were right on whatever the problem was. Went to reception explained problem with fans or air con units whatever it is and girl said wasn't a problem, was moved to now face side street and it was silent thank god. Girl dealt with the problem swiftly and we stayed there another 2 nighta. Still gave 5 stars as was no way the hotels fault and loved our stay, would definitely return.

Great stay. Beds comfy, clean, easy check in etc. My only little tiny thing I’d say is that 4 tea bags and 4 milks was rather stingy… especially after a long journey, but all good.

Lovely hotel but poor air con.

The hotel has recently been refurbished and was lovely and clean. Unfortunately, on the days we stayed the air conditioning had failed and it was on two of the hottest days reaching temps of 32. This lead to very unpleasant nights with very limited sleep.

Excellent York Hotel

Great stay at ibis style york. minute walk from train station. Wetherspoon and grene king nearby. 10minute walk into city. Clean, comfortable and friendly 😌 we will definitely be back as it ticked all our boxes. Only negative is very limited parking. We didnt need parking but we did check it out and decided we were sensible coming by train.

I liked the new bathroom. I didn’t like looking out the window at a brick wall. The room facilities - there was no phone in the room or small bar fridge. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good. Overall this was a 3 star budget property
