The hotel is beautiful, we had a room however in a anex little house next to it which was surprising next to the kitchens so the smell of food was quite persistent. What I didn’t like is that on our last day the Hotel did not give us any towels and since we left early to get a train we had to dry ourselves with our own clothes since the hotel tool away the towels we used before and didn’t give us any back.

Our family attended a wedding in York and we stayed at Judges Lodging. From desk receptionists Vicki and Aga who hosted breakfast were both great! Character room was large with all the amenities, breakfast was great with a very pleasant staff. I highly recommend staying and eating at this hotel if you visit York.

Lovely accommodation, close to the river walk and city wall. A short walk to the train station, shopping (Shambles) and York Minster. Helpful and pleasant staff.

Nicely located boutique hotel. Loved the individually styled rooms located in this old mansion. Food was good and staff helpful. Stairs are tricky if you have oversized luggage. I would stay here again.

Clean comfortable room. Breakfast was great. Pleasant people. The open air dining/driinking area was a bit noisy in our room in the front of the building. The room was hot from the afternoon sun. It would have helped if the windows could open more. Highly recommend.

Great property, excellent location and yummy breakfast. I arrived via train, and it was a very easy 10 min walk to the hotel. I arrived early and they held my bags and moved them into my room when it was ready. They offer a full cooked breakfast with the room. I’d absolutely stay here again!

Fantastic hotel in the center of York, so very convenient for the sight seeing. Parking was quite a trek away and the Park closes its gates at 6pm, so the short cut is not available. No elevator if you need one

It’s an antique place. No lift, front desk is on second floor, AC is not working, couch is old and dirty, bed base is not solid . Breakfast is good with service staffs, one of them is not friendly, unfortunately. I don’t know why this place rated as five stars hotel

I was expecting to be in the old hotel instead it was a modern annex next to bar. Everything was good except the room. Waited a long time to be able to stay in York in the Judges Lodging. Disappointed.

Really enjoyed our stay. We had a courtyard room which was very clean (aside from the usual shower seals)! We had a courtyard room which was lovely - our only slight negative being that with our room so close to the bar, we could clearly hear the bar staff emptying all the bottle bins late in the evening (past 11pm).
