Choose the Milner for an excellent place to stay.

I really enjoyed both York and the hotel. The only problems I found is too many stairs and too long walk to room especially when carrying bags. There was no armchair in room and so it was difficult to be in the room as nowhere to sit. Staff were very helpful. I was locked out of room on departure day before I had time to leave with bags. Staff member let me in.

Great location for exploring York

We had a great stay. All staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean and such a lovely building. Room was a squeeze to negotiate the entrance way and was a bit dark in certain places. Bathroom was compact but lovely - very nice toiletries provided. Pool area was spotless and had good facilities. Ideal location from station and only a short walk into the centre of York.

Beautiful building and interior. The rooms were very tired and in need of repair and upgrade. The wash basin was leaking- the bathroom door wouldn't close due to loose screws-no room mirror- the room was cold despite indicating 24 degrees and the windows were draughty. We were celebrating a special occasion and as a surprise for my partner I book an afternoon tea with some friends joining us. Prior to the stay I contacted the hotel asking them not to mention anything about the afternoon tea at check in as it was a surprise they said a note would be put on the booking. At checkin it was mentioned totally spoiling the surprise I said I asked for that not to be mentioned which the answer was I not and did not even get a apology which I find very poor for this class of hotel. At the afternoon tea the service was very poor we had to get up and request drinks every time we wanted one and had to keep asking for glasses and plates to be cleared for our table.overall it was a very disappointing stay at the hotel

Lovely hotel

Loved my two night stay , hotel and facilities really good and in a good central position with almost direct access to the railway station. I chose the sidings annexe but would stay in the main hotel in future. The bar and lounges very nice for alcohol in evening and coffee in the morning. Breakfast also very good.

Great hotel near station

Had a lovely stay at The Milner, was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Superior Double on arrival so had the luxury of a huge shower and also a freestanding bath to use during our stay. The bed was huge and very comfortable. we used the Swollen Gambler bar and also ate breakfast during our stay and found both very good. Choice of food at breakfast was good and plentiful. Our only gripe was because we stayed in the older part of the hotel overlooking the station area, the old sash windows let in a lot of noise and we were frequently woken by delivery trucks arriving in the early hours, no real issues as we could lie in to get our sleep back but if we were travelling for business and had to be up and out this could be an issue. Overall with the smooth check in and very nive public areas I would definitely recommend the hotel
