Very good modern and clean accommodation. We stayed in the deluxe with king sized bed. A complimentary self service breakfast, choose from crumpets brown and white bread for toasting also cearel yogurts and pastries. Tea and coffee and orange juice. Staff very friendly. Peaceful area close to centre via bootham gate. On street parking at a charge of £5 per night.
This property is all about the location. Its a 10 /15 min flat walk to town which is worth every penny. The roadside permit parking is £5 per night (its £10 for 4 hours in town) and the bill is expected to be paid in advanced...this is different to the booking sites info which the owner is trying to update. Breakfast is toast/cereal/coffee which we liked but if you want a cooked breakfast then you're our of luck here. Clean room, comfortable king size bed, ensuiite with good shower. Would atay again.
Brentwood guest house is at very quiet area but also walkable to the city and I enjoyed that easy walk very much. I have the most interesting room layout ever when I stayed there. Bathroom and room is in different floor even it is the private bathroom, which makes very inconvenient. The shower is so small, that you can not turn around, feel like if I have gained a few pounds more in my body, I will be stuck in the shower. Room is super small as well
Don't bring regular big suitcase because you won't be able to open it, even the hostel has bigger space than it. I have to say whoever designed that room uses every inches of the space. Cleaninees is the only thing I enjoyed awhile staying there. I won't go back again.
All was good but the ‘complimentary’ breakfast was of very poor quality, the cheapest ingredients you could find and at the cost of the day , would have expected better.
The room was very small and the radiator made a noise all night so we could not sleep. The location is great but the breakfast is falsely advertised. This is misleading.
We used after hours check in which was straightforward with the very detailed email I received from Natalie after our booking had been made. The key was left out and the room was up a couple of flights of stairs. The room was perfect for our needs - clean and well stocked with coffee, tea, creamers and soap and shampoo. There was a small wardrobe/closet which was ample for our 2 night stay. We didn’t have the breakfast on offer as we wanted to get out and explore York as soon as we could, but other guests seemed to be happy enjoying it!
The location is perfect - a 10 minute walk to the start of the wall walk and 15 minutes from the Shambles.
We would highly recommend staying at the Brentwood and will stay again when we return to York
