Room OK, room 8, quiet in annex at rear of building. Comfortable bed and good night's sleep. Reception friendly, but bar closed when I returned, despite being told it would be open. Mediocre breakfast, unfriendly service. Only rubbish instant coffee and no vegetarian option for full breakfast. Walk-ins have between 09:00 and 12:00, whilst hotel guests only have between 09:00 and 09:30. I presume this is to facilitate the unreasonably early checkout time of 10:00. Poor value for what I paid, but not worth a formal complaint. I wouldn't stay here again.

One night stay at The Gillygate

Stayed for one night. The room we got facec the road but it was not noisy. The location was superb because it was walking distance to many tourist places. Many restaurants & shops nearby. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was very limited but no extra charges.

Highly recommend

The staff were superb, really lovely ladies. Our room was spacious and the bathroom well equipped. Breakfast was great and they are really close to the main tourist area. Excellent value for money.
