Loved the hotel, welcomed by very personable and kind doormen who were so friendly and attentive throughout our whole stay. The room was lovely and very spacious! Pool was busy but still nice! The location was also great, which a short walk over the river into the centre of York and the hotel was a perfect get away from the busy streets after a day walking around. Only negatives would be the foyer and welcome - it was very busy and queues up to the door! There needed to be a more efficient system to show us the additional check in room next door! Also our room backed onto the delivery entry to the hotel so we were woken at 6:45am by lorries and loud noise! This being said we would definitely return and thanks for a lovely stay!

The property was lovely. The bar and food were amazing. I didn't notice an 'upgrade' on the room, it was a nice king size room, but the shower was very low pressure. There was no breakfast included which was a shame given the price, plus the spa access is only for 1hr (which includes getting ready afterwards) which for someone disabled isn't much time to enjoy the spa facilities. Overall, I would recommend the hotel as the location and restaurant/bar made it 5 stars!

Amazing Hotel in a great location

Amazing property. An excellent location! Five minute walk to the train. And easy walk to city centre. The wall is literally right outside the front door if you’re looking to see the Roman walls staff was amazing the hardest part about this Hotel is the fact that it’s in a historic city That has a lot of road closures for either pedestrians or construction but other than that it’s amazing.

We stay every year at least once for a mini break and it is always fantastic. Beds are super comfy, amazing bathrooms, helpful staff. Had breakfast both days this time as it was so good and worth the extra cost. Will be back in the summer for a birthday visit

Beautiful hotel full of character. This time we stayed in the modern/new part of the hotel and just as lovely as the original side. The staff are wonderful and helpful, the spa is great, we used the steam room and swimming pool and booked massages as additional extra. Would absolutely return again in Spring.
