So much more than its 2 stars
We stayed for 1 night only and from the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We were able to park in the hotel car park but spaces are limited. There is parking available on the street outside but check the signs as some places are for 2 hours max. The hotel is welcoming, warm and very comfy. Our room, no. 40, a twin, is on the top floor and suited us perfectly. It's quiet and spotlessly clean with plenty of room for all our things.The shower is hot but dont expect a power shower! We were treated to a welcome coffee and the breakfast was really good quality and plenty of it. It was a lovely stay, wish it had been for longer

This is a little Gem conveniently situated for the short walk to the centre and close to the railway station Staff very pleasant rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really nice all quality products and quick service I would definitely recommend this Hotel

Very busy but very friendly. Tim & Tania were above and beyond. Only negative was 4th floor but Tim carried our bags up. Location was terrific, good wifi but no bluetooth

This is a nice hotel. The staff is amazing here, very helpful, very friendly. The building itself is a bit outdated, the shower was something straight from the 60s, and all light fixtures were covered by dust and cobweb, but generally it's a well-kept and clean hotel. The pillows were super flat though!

Great location! Amazing hospitality! Fantastic breakfast! The staff at the Wheatlands Lodge Hotel is top notch. My brother caught the flu right before we left the States for England and developed a cough that could not be tamed during our trip. When we made it to York, Wheatlands was able to secure a second room for me during one of the busier times of the year (the annual Food & Drink Festival) so I could get some much needed rest after not sleeping for several days due to said cough. Housekeeping also took great care of our laundry as we packed somewhat light for a two week trip. Thanks Tim for everything! God Bless!
