Hotel room was exceptionally “average” was not worth £280 Police we there dealing with an incident on arrival. Hotel was rowdy. 1 Towel per room. Bathroom was dated and the window was “screwed” shut. Leisure club was dated, I need of major renovation. Breakfast was all microwave food.

The hotel is in a fab location, nice bar & restaurant, excellent choice for breakfast, The bottle of wine that we paid £40 in the bar, we found it available in supermarket comparisons for £6.00! Extortion to say the least! We had to ask for our bedroom to be cleaned, towel change etc at reception as housekeeping hadn’t been to our room. We was staying 2 nights too! The spa facilities were good, other than finding an apple core in the steam room! So not sure on housekeeping for this area either :(

The hotel is very tired and in need of a refurb - we had the upgraded room with a balcony - room was large but bed extremely firm (uncomfortably so) and the pillows were flat and old. Room also boiling hot with no decent a/c. We’ve stayed her several times but won’t be back now

Birthday treat

Son booked his room as he's staff from another Marriott, his Superior room was clean and everything was as expected. Just one small minor issue a couple of loose boards on the balcony - didnt distract the view of the Racecourse. My daughter & i got a free unexpected upgrade to a family room which was huge for just the two of us. Breakfast was fitting for a Marriot, son won't comment as he's a chef, service and staff were excellent. The only thing i didnt like and the Marriott cant do too much about is that the pool area is right at the front of the hotel, you have to walk past to get to car park at the side. Wandering around the grounds we walked the Apple orchard- so many apples wasted, didnt see advertised a Tennis court, which had we known, we would have used. A great 3 night stay - enjoyed by all.

Only 30min walk from the City Centre. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were all excellent. Leisure Facilities were good and quiet during our stay. Nice location with well kept gardens to the rear. A broad selection of choices for breakfast. Not so good - evening meals. Just didn’t hit the mark in how meals were presented and some parts were overcooked. Tasty enough, but at the rates you’re paying, we expect a much higher standard.

Lovely hotel

Superb apart from noise in room from air conditioning bank on outside ground below bedroom. Sleepless first night but reception brilliant next morning and arranged to move room away from noise.
