Hotel Bahnhof was probably my favorite stay of our entire trip. The location is absolutely spectacular — just steps from the train station and super easy to find. The whole place had a relaxed, welcoming vibe and felt very safe. It’s thoughtfully set up for travelers, with a well-equipped group kitchen and convenient luggage storage after check-out. These little touches made a big difference. This was also incredible value for money. I couldn’t be more impressed and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. A fantastic stay all around!

Pros - Opposite to the main train station & local bus stop. Cons - No lift, 2 pm check in time, Smart a** staff at reception which can be annoying if you had long travel day.

Place in the snow

Short stay - was aware it was hostel. Ground floor room which was great and windows that open. Was hot inside even though snow outside and no heating operating. Just across the road from the train station. Nothing in Zermatt is far away. Coop store 5 mins away with good selection of ready to eat food. Has communal kitchen which was great for quiet free cuppa. Really helpful reception. It is a hostel so rooms are tiny as is bathroom however shower is hugh with good water flow

What a really great find. I took the hostel room upstairs on the 4th floor (Kilimanjaro) and it worked well. Definitely a hostel up there with bathrooms one floor down but exactly what I needed. Amazing kitchen and great ski room with boot heaters. Right next to the train station and easy access to skiing. The check in and staff were amazing. Quite a find.

This is an older property but clean. The facilities such as shower, toilet, kitchen and washer/dryer are shared. I had no issues with congestion. It is literally across the street from the train station and the entire town is walkable from this location. I had a third floor room with a lovely view of the Matterhorn. There is no elevator and heavy luggage might be difficult to manage.

If you don’t need glamour and you’re traveling alone and you don’t mind a dormitory/hostel this hotel is fabulous. It’s clean. It has a kitchen that you can use and keep food in. It has lots of great company with people from all over. It’s very convenient if you’re skiing it’s next door to the lift and also to the train station. I’m afraid of giving it such a great review because I don’t want to be full the next time I go there. The staff is also very friendly and helpful!
