What an iconic Swiss property! Location is easy 1/4 block from train station. Breakfast and service was very nice-- although I'd recommend going just across street to a great coffee and breakfast place instead. Our room had a balcony that faced the main street which was wonderful to sit, relax, and watch people going by. No coffee in room but easy stroll down to breakfast to pickup and bring back. Beds very comfortable and of course bathroom floor heated. Although not in any welcome instructions-- DO NOT follow google maps and drive into town-- major tourist faux pas :( since it's a car free city.

Super close to the train station, hardly a two minute walk so if you have luggage this is very convenient. The room itself was excellent, newly renovated so very modern new finishes. Clearly though it is meant for winter/ski season. There’s no AC, it was hot but thankfully I could open the window which helped. But if you are light sleeper and sensitive to sounds then this might not be your best option as there is in the heart of the town so lots of people walking around/talking dinning till quite late at night. One thing that annoyed me a lot was they didn’t accept credit card for the property fees which was around 4 chf, and I didn’t have cash on me so I was forced to eat dinner at their restaurant so they could add the property fee charge to my dining bill and pay it that way. The dinner wasn’t good at all. But breakfast was AMAZING, definitely try their pain is chocolat, the best I’ve had. All in all I’d rate it a 3.5-4

The hotel locates in the main stree, only a few minutes walking from the train station. It was newly renovated with a very Zermatt style. The associated restaurant provides great food in very reasonable prices. The price of hotel is also respectable especially in this area.

The property looks so authentic and aged while on the inside it has been so nicely updated with really nice modern features and fixtures. This part of town of gorgeous, the restaurant downstairs amazing and the view from the balcony is awe inspiring. Best of all, the front desk staff was really helpful in pointing us in the right direction with our options for exploring the mountains.

Stayed at Derby hotel for one night, No air conditioning so you have to keep the windows open, since they don’t have screens, you are just inviting mosquitoes and bugs in! On top of that you hear people on the street well passed the midnight.

Everything was what we expected, with the exception of noise at night. Even though we stayed in the apartment building behind the main hotel building, we experienced a lot of noise until after midnight. It was a Saturday night, and our room was directly at the end of side street next to hotel so it seemed the noise was almost amplified from the Main Street through town.
