We stated at Hotel Julen for 2 days May 7 & 8th to go up the Matterhorn. Our room was very nice and very clean, staff were very friendly and welcoming. The included breakfast had everything anyone could desire. We had supper at one of the restaurants ( Schaferstube) in the hotel on our 2nd night. For those looking for a traditional Swiss atmosphere and food we would highly recommend it. We had the beef fondue which was excellent. Location is excellent. We would highly recommend this hotel.

The Tradition Julen is a fantastic hotel with an incredible location offering stunning views of the Matterhorn. The staff was as friendly and helpful as could be, the room was beautiful and the breakfasts were amazing. Very, very easy walking distance (a few blocks) to the heart of Zermatt.

Hotel Julien is charming and the staff is so friendly and attentive to their guests. The rooms are so nice, many extras that you don't see at other hotels. My only negative comment is that there didn't seem to be appropriate covering on the bathroom window for night time use, and it was difficult to reach close to the bathroom mirror to apply makeup.

Beautiful and charming hotel in the perfect Zermatt location. Nice view of the Matterhorn from our balcony. Everything in town was walkable (though they sent a free shuttle to pick us up from the train station when we first arrived). We loved the pool and spa and they even made our dog feel at home. Very highly recommended.

Exceptional Hotel

The Hotel was to say the least exceptional. It was approximately 15 minutes from the train and an breath taking walk for views as they were phenomenal. It was later in the day on arrival. We had some clothes to be cleaned. We had checked in, they recommended the restaurant below on site. The room was awesome with 2 balconies, the room was not short of anything we needed for our stay, free mini bar (Hi Lite LOL). After dinner we returned to the room to find our clothes to be cleaned returned. We had a clear night to enjoy a beverage from our balcony and enjoy the views, a moon lit evening and stars just blazing. Awesome service! We enjoyed the pool and any amenity we could. The only thing i would change was the length of stay. We would have loved to be there for a week. Walking distance to anywhere was close.

A romantic, traditional Swiss Chalet feel to the hotel with a wonderful staff. If you want a view of the Matterhorn make sure you request it when booking. Even without it, step outside to and have a coffee or meal at the Old Zermatt across the street and you have the best view of the mountain when she is out! There are two restaurants in the hotel and both of them are excellent with friendly and professional staff!

This hotel is lovely with very nice rooms. However be warned they have the strangest and most hopeless air conditioning system you can imagine. You operate it through the TV and it doesn’t have temp, just zones. You also cannot change the fan speed. So in the middle of the night my wife was hot and we had to turn on the large TV to change to another zone - which we had no idea what it was. It also blows right onto you face while sleeping. I moved to the couch it was so uncomfortable. Also we found some front desk to be less than accomodating. When we asked for information about the area we didn’t really feel like they wanted to help. We would say most were great and the restaurant team were excellent.

This might be our favorite hotel of all time. The 10/10 reviews were exactly right. The staff from front desk to restaurant to housekeeping were friendly, courteous and helpful. The room and bed were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our little patio was nice for morning coffee and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Absolutely lovely. The hotel will pick you and your luggage u at the train station, simply call them when you are due to arrive.

We stayed here for one night, and we were very impressed. The hotel was extremely clean, and the staff was fantastic: friendly, very welcoming, and helpful. My son is 6’5”, and he slept very comfortably on the sofa bed. The room was very spacious. A bridge with an excellent view of the Matterhorn at sunrise is nearby.
