Great location - the hotel is right next to Enge station and tram stops that take you into the centre of Zurich, so it was really easy getting around. Staff all friendly and helpful, and the room was modern and clean. The only real issue we had was the lack of aircon in a hot summer. Reception were able to provide us with a fan but aircon would’ve obviously made the stay much more comfortable. I’d stay again as long as I wasn’t visiting in summer!

We enjoyed our night stay at the Locke. The staff were very helpful and kind. The hotel is just by the train station, which made it easy to hop on to get to the airport. The room was very clean, comfortable and we enjoyed our balcony and morning coffee!

Staff was great, but it is not a 4 star. Restaurant closes on the weekend, there are no staff at hotel Sunday mornings. Rooms are ok size, but the design is a poor version of 80’s. Way to much heavy drape makes it look dreary. Dust on upper shelves not touched in months. Lack of air requires free standing units which negate the use of balcony and leaving the door open. If you go in warm months, you will be extremely disappointed

The fundamental issue with this hotel is that it has no air conditioning. I stayed for two sultry June nights and got very little sleep due to the heat. Despite the heat, the room was supplied with not one but two heavy duvets when just a sheet would have been sufficient. The staff did provide me a fan, but I found it loud and annoying. Putting that to one side, the room was ok, if rather dated. No slippers were provided. I always find it incredibly annoying when hotels scrimp on slippers. I do not want to walk around bare foot on dirty hotel floors, thank you! I’m not suggesting that the floors weren’t cleaned, but floors, particularly carpeted ones, are never going to be 100% dirt free. The hotel was relatively cheap for Zurich, but still ludicrously expensive for what it is. Breakfast is extra (I had thought it was included, so be careful), but the offering is very limited and not worth the money.

The room was really nice and comfortable. Clean and easy to come and go from. The team at the front desk are really helpful too! There are bikes you can use for the day to ride around the city or lake and adds some fun to the trip.

This was 3 days free-time between an 11-day Globus bus tour from Vienna to Lucerne and a 7-day Avalon River cruise from Basil to Amsterdam. We’re so glad we decided to include Zurich and the Locke Am Platz into our plans. Our 3 night stay was excellent. The breakfast was good but lacked choices, our only (minor) complaint. Front staff helped us with every question including coming up with a universal plug that worked (I’d left mine behind at the previous hotel in Lucerne), and a convenient way for us to do our much-needed laundry. We are very appreciative of those 2 things in particular. Zurich was my favourite city of our trip. Loved both the lake and Old Town. We had wonderful meals in Old Town and everything was easy walking from the hotel.

The Locke Am Platz staff are incredible. They helped us with fans for our room (as it was unseasonably hot) local information regarding public transport and recommendations for local restaurants. They couldn’t do enough to help. The hotel is lovely. Room was of a perfect size and included a small kitchenette. The fridge was most useful considering how hot it was during our stay. Breakfast was great. Repetitive but very well presented and always stocked well. Selection of drinks for breakfast was also good. Overall a great hotel within easy walking distance of Lake Zurich. Would recommend to anyone wanting a Zurich base to explore Switzerland from.

Although I only stayed for one night it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had at a hotel. The welcome was pleasant and there was a positive, helpful response to the many questions I had. The bedding was a real highlight and I’m making plans to revamp my own at home. I did notice some minor issues from people not taking care and it would be a shame if this was to affect the condition of facilities for future visitors. Everyone was so accommodating, breakfast was so good. I had the tastiest chocolate croissant I’ve had so far in life. Grateful for to 10% discount I received to use towards future bookings as I’m now keen to check out other locations.
