The toilet seat was broken, and we had to wait half a day for it to be fixed. The Wi-Fi was terrible, and we couldn’t get a 5G signal at all. The soundproofing in the room was awful. On our last night, a couple staying in the room above us were fighting and shouting, waking us up at 4 a.m. We informed the manager, but he was unable to resolve the situation. As a result, the noise, shouting, and arguing continued, and we weren’t able to fall back asleep. Since it was our check-out day, we asked if it was possible to extend our stay in the room. The manager said they could only extend it by one hour, which wasn’t helpful. In the end, our entire day before the flight was ruined because we were exhausted from the lack of sleep. A few more downsides: It takes more than an hour to get to Chania from the hotel, and the bus is usually overcrowded. There are no shops nearby. On the positive side, the area is very peaceful, the beach is within walking distance, and the food offers a good variety to suit different tastes. Other than that, it’s pretty much the same as any standard all-inclusive hotel.

She consistently went above and beyond and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another room number. I’d also like to recognize the incredible breakfast team. Their friendliness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Exceptional service is what transforms a great hotel into an unforgettable experience, and the team at Vertali did exactly that. This boutique hotel is a gem in the mountains. The staff are outstanding and make your stay worth every minute. They are attentive, friendly, helpful, and proactive at all times. The surrounding views are incredible and this is the ultimate quiet escape away from the crowds. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel and I look forward to returning.

We had a spectacular time at Akrotiri Hotel. The hospitality was above and beyond. Breakfast included every morning and high quality. Lena and her husband were incredibly welcoming. The room was very clean and well maintained. The tile in the bathroom was beautiful and the shower itself was wonderful. Now for the view. We were told we would have a panoramic view and we couldn’t have had anything more beautiful to wake up to. The terrazzo was also well maintained and enjoyable to sit on in the mornings. We had a drying rack for clothing which was helpful. The bus is very close to the hotel and was convenient to get on and off of. Lena’s husband offered to drive us to town a few times which was extremely generous. Again, above and beyond hospitality. When they say arrive as a guest, leave as a friend, they mean it. When I have the chance to return, we will absolutely be staying at Hotel Akrotiri.

Great room, amenities and food. The property is not brand new but it was very well maintained and everything was clean and in excellent condition. The pools were all very clean and well maintained, the beach was incredible and the food was excellent. Great location and you must go check out the lake which was 5 mins away. Excellent resort for a family with children.
