It was a cool looking hotel. I felt the staff weren’t too helpful though. They didn’t really make us feel like home. The restaurant was okay, a bit slow. Didn’t have time to check out the pool. Our room was big, and the blanket was definitely warm. Hot shower. Great. My favourite thing was the observatory experience with David Rivas Romero. This is only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (I think) so we got lucky as we were okay there one night. Worth it. He was so nice and educational. We’ve never seen stars so clearly, and then he showed us a few through a telescope! Very cool experience. Check-out is 10am - early, and you have to pay to have a late checkout

We would definitely stay here again! The staff was excellent, the location was good. There was some traffic noise at night, but nothing some earplugs or white noise can’t take care of. Over all, we were very pleased with our experience!

This is a very charming hotel. Nice view from the common area and patio. The best part is the staff though. They were very accommodating, warm, and helpful with every request I had including oxygen. They offer boxed breakfast if you need to leave early (even at 3 AM!) for excursions. They also arranged pick-up to and from the airport for me. Great location, close to main square and good restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice property in a quiet area with amazing mountains view.

We booked a quadruple room with a 2nd floor (like a loft) for 4 people in Oct 2026. Two double beds on ground floor and two twins on loft. My adult children tried to sleep on the upper deck but was too hot. The room has no AC but without screens on the sliding door, opening them to sleep drew in lots of bugs. So the 4 of us ended up sleeping on 2 double beds, which was tight. Otherwise, the amenities in the room were fine. The buffet breakfast selection was reasonable. You can made to order eggs and pancakes. The garden of the hotel was very well maintained and was beautiful.

I wonder if every hotel in Machu Picchu town is this way: old facilities, shabby rooms, bad hygiene (especially sheets and towels) and overly stingy with expensive prices. Even water, toothbrushes and toothpaste cost extra and each person can only get one big towel which is extremely ridiculous. The noise insulation is poor and some staff are unfriendly. I expected a fairly big hotel but got a small, unprofessional one. I was really disappointed. A couple of staff were welcoming and helpful — that was the only positive. Everything else was bad, and I don’t think it deserves its high reviews. I’d advise travelers to skip it. It’s high on the hill with poor access. Staying downhill near the Machu Picchu bus station is a much better choice.
