Wonderful stay at Tay motel! Perfect place to stay when cycling the Simcoe trail loop, clean and very friendly helpful staff!! Bonfire to end the evening and convenience store near by for munchies :)

We were unfamiliar with the Haliburton Post House and booked two nights , mid week, on a whim to get out of town. The room was beautiful, the food and wine selection was great. We took advantage of their waterfront and toys on what may have been the hottest day of the year. Thanks to the staff who made us feel welcome and were the highlight of our stay.

The property is beautiful and the view of the lake was nice. The room was mostly clean. We had to call the front desk to get bedding for the pull out couch. The website should be updated regarding rules about dogs and how the restaurant runs. It states that dogs are not allowed although there were many around. The breakfast is available earlier than 10 am and we didn’t need reservations for dinner. It was nice to have live entertainment. The pool needs to re-open! Servers were very friendly!

This place is a complete scam. Upon arrival the reception area is locked and there is no one there to greet you or take you to your cabin. The cabin was not ready on time and we waited for it to be cleaned. This property is extremely run down and filthy inside cabins (reeked of mould, ripped curtains, soiled sofa, broken tiles, filthy stove & kitchen area, soiled bed frame, walls were grey with grime, bathroom is smaller than most powder rooms). The photos of the cabins must have been altered to look better. Inside the cabins is a total of 13x13 feet including living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. There is no dresser or closet. The price for this was outrageous and I demanded a full refund upon arrival and returned home which ruined a weeks vacation. There is a number to call for support. It is clear at this point no one intends to help. There is an answering service set up screens calls. You are told the manager will call you back. They do not call back. I was hung up on when they “transferred me to a manager” 10+ times. The only help I received was from Expedia to regain my money. Do not waste any time or money here. Nothing about this place is on the up and up.

We love that you’re right on the water… You could see the lake from our sliding door.. it seems like the room was just redone.. We will be back!
