Have stayed here several times and will continue to do so when coming to Kruger. It's a great property , really comfortable rooms with everything you need, and you cannot beat the location!

Camp Shawu Tents have a unique location in front of a watering hole that house Hippos, and see a string of animals come to hydrate like elephants, impalas, and giraffes....You can seat on your deck and enjoy the show. Our Safari Guide Sifiso, was AMAZING! He made the trip even more special. The property lacks maintenance ...the pool was not maintained hence looked like a mosquito fest, the umbrellas were all broken hence no shade to sit out on the beautiful deck overlooking the watering hole, the doors of the main area were mostly out of service hence not allowing a proper breeze to flow through...The food was average. That said, you pay for the location and an amazing guide not for the property....

Kruger park was only about 20 minutes away by drive. All of the staff were wonderful. So friendly. Whatever you wanted, they would get for you. I couldn’t single out one staff member because they were all perfect. The suites are gorgeous and spotless with a wonderful view of the Sabe River. The food was excellent and so plentiful. I couldn’t think of a better place to stay to get to Kruger and experience the game drives. The drivers were excellent and it was easy to see their love for the animals and nature of South Africa. Highly recommend.

Lovely property close to Malelane gate. The people who work here really make it feel like you’re visiting friendly relatives. It was a beautiful , restful stay for my kids and I. We enjoyed the lovely meals from the restaurant, the ambiance and view were also superb. Fun pool- the kids pool is super for young kids too.

Our three-night stay at Kambaku River Lodge was nothing short of unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality from Garry that immediately set the tone for the entire experience. The lodge itself is beautifully designed, blending comfort with an authentic safari atmosphere. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered stunning views of Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River. We shared the outside space with a few nyalas who took little notice of us! Waking up to the sounds of nature each morning was truly special. What made the stay exceptional, however, was the incredible safari experience. The game drives were expertly guided, with Elvis, our knowledgeable ranger who went above and beyond to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible while also educating us about the ecosystem. Both drives felt unique and exciting. The food was another highlight — consistently delicious, delivered to us by drumbeat, thoughtfully prepared, and enjoyed in a relaxed, scenic setting with a log burner adding to the special atmosphere. Dining under the stars added a magical touch to the evenings. Most of all, the staff made this trip memorable. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and passion for what they do created a welcoming and personal atmosphere throughout our stay. We left feeling relaxed, inspired, and already planning a return visit. Kambaku River Lodge is truly a special place, and we couldn’t recommend it more highly.
