Comfortable and spacious. A modern feel but with nods to the history of the building. A good base to explore Barcelona and a lovely area to relax afterwards. Watching sunset from the rooftop bar was a personal highlight of the stay.

Very nice Hotel with beautiful rooms…. The thermostat is too confusing….., the desk dropped it from 24C to 19C at my request but for some reason the room was hotter.,… never got under the covers….. 2 bad nights of sleep….. also, the bar and restaurant hours need expanding

This property is in the heart of the tourist area. Lots to do and many areas to walk and shop. This hotel had very comfy beds and the overall cleanliness of the property and rooms was very good. The service was good however it can be much better. Especially the front desk staff. They have good service overall however they can make your experience go to the next level with being more attentive and smile a little more, We would come back for sure.

Nice hotel, a bit old
Overall, it was a very nice hotel. The bed was amazing and so comfortable. The restaurant had amazing food (both breakfast and dinner) which was totally satisfying. Great location. The only thing is that there was a lot of electrical noise in the room (low buzzing) and also the walls were thin and you could hear people's heels, talking voices, etc. Other than that, it was a great stay.

The Hotel 1898 was spectacular. The staff was attentive and very helpful. All areas of the hotel were spotless and the decor was beautiful. The location was close to the harbor and many shops and restaurants that we absolutely loved! It was also within walking distance of many designer clothing stores that had great prices on their products. We will definitely stay at this hotel and and also recommend it to friends and family.

Just left this morning. What a great four day stay. The location is perfect for Barcelona first-timers with easy access to most the spots where you are likely to spend your time. While close to las Ramblas where a lot of action is, with entry on side street, it is still quiet and quaint. The rooftop bar and pool is a perfect hangout spot and the beds were super comfy and rooms spacious be European standards. Lots of great dining nearby .
