The room and breakfast were nice as were the restaurant staff.
The check-in process was stressful. I had two rooms booked under me. We were early and I was told only one room was available which was better than expected. I was told the rooms would be 6 floors apart which was suboptimal as my reservation was made months in advance. After I provided a credit card to keep on file and all of our passports and returned everything to my wallet, I was asked how I would like to pay for the city taxes? I told the receptionist to use the credit card on file. She couldn’t did this so I had to get my wallet out again and provide the same card for taxes. I was then asked where I would like to store our luggage. I told the receptionist we would store the bags in the room that was ready. She then told me there was actually no room available. She then put my 11 year old as the responsible party for one room and my husband for the other. We had 4 adults in our party and two children. When the room was ready, we were curtly given room keys with no explanation of room amenities, breakfast times, etc. We felt like burdens rather than valued guests. We visited 5 countries on this trip and all other hotel staff were friendly and accommodating providing room tours and explaining the intricacies of the amenities. I expected better service at this price point.
