The property has a beautiful beach front and it was peaceful however the dining room was closed the first night for a private event and no notice was given to us until we checked in and then the one night we dined in the restaurant the service was sub standard and there were only 8 other tables dining. We weren’t ordering the expensive table side catch and that was evident with the lack of service we received. The room we had was not sound proof so we could hear the entire conversation from the guests next door as well as their morning rendezvous. For luxury I think if you are booking private events then you need to have some area where guests can dine and not send them down the street or a $20 cab ride into town. I think the hotel itself is beautiful but they need to also prioritize the guests.

This place was so cute! I was really impressed. We were only here for a short one night. The rooms were really big, clean, modern and updated. The hotel has so many cute little details, like the glass sand on the hallway floors. I don’t know much about the area where we were staying because it was just a short stay and we didn’t get to explore so I’m not sure what is around the area but we would definitely stay here again next visit to Barcelona

Playa Grande Tropical is a beautiful resort. It has everything for a rest and relaxing stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had a great time and will definitely revisit in the future.

Great stay in Gava!
We wanted to be somewhat close to the Barcelona airport since we were flying out the next day. The property is a beautiful, contemporary beach front hotel for adults only. The reception staff and restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We most definitely recommend Playa Grande by Tropical.

Best hotel in Gava
This hotel has everything - a large pool, a spa, a rooftop pool, and lots of loungers to relax and enjoy the beach and the sea. Restaurant excellent if a little pricey for some options. Rooms a good size for a couple for a few days.

Stuck up staff for an average party hotel
Nice looking hotel but the staff are pretty lackluster in their attention to customers. The room was basic and there was no hot water in the shower. It was intentionally warm but not hot. There was no blankets only sheets for the bed for a cold night sleeping. The lighting was terrible in the bathroom and there was one tiny sink. The food was decent but didn’t blow us away. Had to drive to anything else for food. Nothing within walk distance.

Come for the accommodation but eat elsewhere!
First of all the rooms are very good. Very well furnished, robes etc. and the beach front is great. Clean, lots of loungers and a bar which also serves food. Five stars. But don't eat here. Service is poor. Good choice is not great and not best quality. Staff look disinterested. Argue with each other in front of customers. Eat elsewhere.

The property decor is stunning in rooms and throughout hotel. The beach location was serene for being so close to the city. This hotel is isolated from restaurants and stores so once you arrive without a vehicle, your only choice for food and drink is within the hotel. However, the service around the pool in the afternoon was terrible. Their beach club was open to locals as well as hotel guests and this may explain why we were ignored after arriving to the pool area. We could not even make eye contact with the one server. It was approx 30 minutes before we finally went up to ask for a drink. He made us feel like we were interrupting him and it was a bad first impression. The service from front desk staff and restaurant servers in the evening was good. This hotel is good for those who want a beautifully appointed room away from city life to relax and be left alone.

This property was amazing. Great staff. 30 min away from Barcelona by taxi. So if you are just planning for a relaxing vacation this is really good. But if you wanna explore the city this is probably not the place. Food was great but a bit expensive. Clean beach , great view. We took a room with the pool on the upper lever. Due to the drought, they said we coudnt use it, same issues with other people who booked the room with pool,they should've mentioned that in their website because we had to pay extra just because of that pool. they should have given us a voucher for an appetizer or drinks or something but nope. Thats the only thing that bothered us. But otherwise great stay.
