The room was spacious and easily accommodated my 6’4” husband which can be a challenge. The staff spoke English and were helpful. The breakfast was okay. It is close to food and shopping. We had an easy time getting an Uber. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

My mum and I stayed here back in August for 5 nights, the experience was very good. The staff were all lovely- very helpful and informative, especially Felipe! The majority of staff members spoke Spanish and Catalan but could speak English as well. They were able to help with buying tickets for hotspots such as the Sagrada Familia. The room itself was quite spacious, considering we paid for the most basic option, it was still comfortable and clean for the most part. The only thing was that our bathroom wasn’t the cleanest but it was alright. Even though we had a view of the back of the hotel, the view wasn’t bad out our window. The breakfast buffet was excellent. There were both continental and traditional options. The area which the hotel is situated in is also very helpful. It’s three blocks away from the main street of Eixample, which is the more high-end district. The metro stations were on this street as well. Because it’s more high-end, overall it’s safer, with less pickpocketing. Taxis to the airport are expensive and the only reason we decided to take one was because we were told the by the HOTEL that fixed tariff was €30-€35. Taxi driver charged us €50 denying fixed tariff claim…contacted hotel and told us there never was a fixed tariff when we were told there was one. This would be my only significant complaint as, overall, the experience at Room Mate Carla was very nice and I recommend if you feel uneasy or know you’ll need the metro and if you’re there to shop!
