The room was spacious and easily accommodated my 6’4” husband which can be a challenge. The staff spoke English and were helpful. The breakfast was okay. It is close to food and shopping. We had an easy time getting an Uber. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

My mum and I stayed here back in August for 5 nights, the experience was very good. The staff were all lovely- very helpful and informative, especially Felipe! The majority of staff members spoke Spanish and Catalan but could speak English as well. They were able to help with buying tickets for hotspots such as the Sagrada Familia. The room itself was quite spacious, considering we paid for the most basic option, it was still comfortable and clean for the most part. The only thing was that our bathroom wasn’t the cleanest but it was alright. Even though we had a view of the back of the hotel, the view wasn’t bad out our window. The breakfast buffet was excellent. There were both continental and traditional options. The area which the hotel is situated in is also very helpful. It’s three blocks away from the main street of Eixample, which is the more high-end district. The metro stations were on this street as well. Because it’s more high-end, overall it’s safer, with less pickpocketing. Taxis to the airport are expensive and the only reason we decided to take one was because we were told the by the HOTEL that fixed tariff was €30-€35. Taxi driver charged us €50 denying fixed tariff claim…contacted hotel and told us there never was a fixed tariff when we were told there was one. This would be my only significant complaint as, overall, the experience at Room Mate Carla was very nice and I recommend if you feel uneasy or know you’ll need the metro and if you’re there to shop!

I recently stayed at Room Mate Carla Hotel in Barcelona, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I checked in, the customer service was shockingly poor. The staff seemed unprepared and uninterested in providing even basic hospitality. During my stay, I asked for my room to be cleaned, but instead of freshening up the room properly, the cleaning staff just covered the dirty sheets with clean ones, leaving the soiled ones underneath. The television in the room was practically useless—only local channels were available, and even those kept cutting out due to a faulty cable connection. To make matters worse, they never bothered to replace the shower gels, and despite advertising as pet-friendly, they clearly aren't. Additionally, I didn’t feel welcomed as an LGBT guest, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. I have photos and proof of all the issues I encountered during my stay, and I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to think twice. There are far better options in Barcelona. I travel to the city frequently and wanted to give this place a try, but it turned out to be a huge mistake. Save yourself the frustration—don’t stay here.

My stay at Room Mate Carla was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel's stylish design and vibrant decor created an inviting atmosphere from the moment I arrived. My room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any request. The breakfast selection was fantastic, offering a variety of delicious options to start the day. The hotel's central location made exploring the city effortless, with many attractions and restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel is well situated and a relatively safe area, has a wonderful buffet option which u should get if u stay here. Having said that, my wife and I feel the hotel is not adequately maintain. The layout is not the best as if ur sleeping with a partner that is a light sleeper, u will surely wake them up. The bed is situated next to the bathroom door which is entirely green glass. Lacks lots of amenities, in comparison with other hotels in the area.

Nice hotel with an interesting gothic design. Although the reception area and hallways are very dark (black and dark blue paint), the rooms are very nice, bright with lots of light, comfortable, relaxing and modern. The staff are very nice too. It’s hard to use Uber in this part of Spain, which I didn’t know, but the staff explained the situation and helped me call taxis which came quickly. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Great location and spacious room for weekend stay
Great location and well sized room. I stayed in Barcelona at another hotel that was more remotely located and had smaller room and bathrooms than here. Full sized bathtub was a nice surprise. I would definitely stay here again. The service was very good from check in to check out and in between. Breakfast buffet is excellent (not included but affordable especially with advanced notice): cured meats and cheeses, eggs and bacon, fruit juice, fruit, and more. I filled up on breakfast and wasn’t hungry for lunch.
