Great stay

Upon my arrival, I waited at the desk while two employees talked with each other for roughly 7 minutes before anyone said hello to me. However, the hotel itself was excellent. It smelled clean, looked clean, and was very comfortable.

We had dinner and cocktails in the bar area. The young man that was our bartender/server was amazing. He had a great personality.. food was good. Also had a great breakfast.

While staying at this property, my car (and multiple other cars) were broken into in the middle of the night. Someone smashed all our windows in an attempt to steal. This property has no cameras in their parking lot, nor has security so it is the perfect environment for this type of crime. The property took no steps in ensuring the safety of their patrons, and offered no recourse as this all took place on their property. The staff was extremely nonchalant about the entire ordeal which led me to leave a day earlier than planned as I no longer felt safe staying at this hotel. Horrible experience and I caution anyone who is driving their car to stay here.

The service in the restaurant was absolutely ridiculous. Over 40 minutes waiting for 2 burgers, plus people who came after us got their food before we did. Then it took nearly 10 minutes to get my bill, AFTER I had to ask for it. At least 15 minutes from the time we ordered water to get the water. I also had a salad, didn't get silverware for over 10 minutes after telling her when she put it on the table.

Our stay was disappointing. This Cambria doesn’t have the rooftop bar that others have. But the real issue was all the little stuff. Most of the parking was around back, but we found out in the rain, that an entry door was out of order, so we had to find another. In the room, a USB port didn’t work. The lights at the top of the bathroom mirror didn’t work. The tub was clogged so it filled while running the shower. Staff fixed the light the third day and the clog was taken care of the same day, so that’s good. However, the Smart TV was dumb. There was no internet signal, so we couldn’t log into our own streaming accounts. We asked for it to be fixed, but we were told it wasn’t a smart tv—strange since it turns on saying Samsung Smart. It was raining so much, so not having decent TV in the evening was frustrating. However, it was really annoying that when we were checking out, another manager confirmed that we should have been able to cast from a phone and that nobody else complained about not being able to. With so many little things on top of other little things at another Cambria last year, my husband and I are done with Cambria.

The staff is incredibly sweet, making me feel safe and welcome. It may seem silly, but I'm grateful that you put salt down all over the hotel for the snow. The food is delicious, and the rooms are very cozy!

Great hotel, very clean and close to downtown Charleston. The bartenders were AWSOME! THE DRINKS WERE STRONG AND CHEAP. The food was good and affordable. I will definitely come back again.
