They could do better
The view of the river and Charleston from the rooftop restaurant is excellent. However, the food is subpar. The rooms are not very clean and the decor tired.

Your staffed checked me into a half empty hotel and still managed to give a view of the Waffle House. Why would I ever come back!! Treat me right or I walk with my money. I’m at the HI Riverview hotel with a view of the highway and Waffle House while Riverview rooms sit empty

Property is run down, room was dirty. There were people sitting in the hallway not sure why? Definitely didn’t feel safe. We checked in late and our room was already open when we arrived. Shower was very slippery and had mold on the curtains and walls.

The noise from the highway was very loud (even though we were on the 10th floor!). We did like the free shuttle into the city, this was an unexpected bonus. The room itself was fine with a big comfy bed and pillows. Could only get lukewarm water in the shower though.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. However, the property is quite dated. We noticed mold in the shower and on the ceiling. Additionally, there were small holes in the wall around the air conditioning unit that allowed us to see outside. We chose this place primarily for its location.

We always have a wonderful visit every time we stay at Charleston Riverview. It’s convenient and we love the bar upstairs with that amazing view. Rooms are comfortable and linens are very good.
