Our room was pleasant and a good size. We got the impression it wasn’t used often because the tv didn’t work and the clock wasn’t set properly. After notifying the staff, the problems were fixed. The two chairs in the room were stained and should also be reupholstered with better batting/cushion. Wood furniture pieces were scraped and could use some polish to hide the rough edges. Great restaurant and excellent service from all staff. Great location.

Booked the wrong night…my fault unquestionably…but neither Planters or Expedia would give me a refund or a least a credit or partial credit for a future trip…not good business in my money mind. Won’t use a third party to book like Expedia in the future…this would have been easier to navigate had I booked directly through Planters and I am a good repeat customer…oh well, lesson learned

This is a typical example of an upscale boutique hotel. My main complaint was the smell in our room. When walking in, you're hit with a mild sewage smell coupled with urinal cakes. We got nose-blind to the smell after a while, but each time we left and walked back in, boom, sewage. Otherwise, hotel was nice although some décor in the room was broken/chipped and the carpet was showing its age. I would probably choose elsewhere next time.

We had a lovely stay at the Planters Inn. Such a cute place and really enjoyed ourselves on our stay in Charleston. Love that they still have daily housekeeping! Hot coffee always available in the lounge was nice. Staff super friendly and accommodating.

Hotel aligns with the boutique old Charleston theme. However, I do think the reception staff and managerial staff need to smarten up for the price paid. E.G the receptionist could not help with any old town tours information, only a local bus service route.

Wonderful hotel in historic building, located in walking distance from all historic points of interest, in the heart of dinning and shopping district. Customer service was exceptional , helpful and welcoming . Personal welcoming notes awaiting in the room were very nice and welcoming touch ! At night , upon returning from a dinner, we found our room thoughtfully prepared for the night with sheets properly adjusted - nice touch! We will definitely stay at this hotel next time we are in Charleston !

Phenomenal stay at this Darling Hotel. The service was top-notch, I was treated like I was staying at a Ritz Carlton. Everything was impeccable, our room was super clean and perfectly appointed. Gorgeous historic building and a real boutique experience. Everyone is incredibly friendly and accomodating. I loved the all day coffe/tea service. The room is huge and lavish. I had a king sized bed which was a real treat and very comfortable.
