Cowichan Bay Vacation Packages

It would have been great but a homeless person started a cooking fire in one of the parking stalls right by the sur intake. The fire alarm went off at 3:30 am. The bizarrely the staff turned it off after a few moments because it was amazing. We had to stand in the parking lot for an hour. There was no offer or anything to apologize not even a free breakfast.

The rooms were unique, there was a fire place and living area, little coffee bar with Nespresso coffee and organic tea. The decor was updated and it didn't feel like a hotel room, it was enjoyable and relaxing. The furniture was modern and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had a room on the 1st floor with a deck, we watched the moonlight on the ocean and sunrise in the morning. It is a true place of relaxation.

The view from the property was unreal, the restaurant was excellent.

The room was spotless, literally. The bathroom fixtures were shiny with NO water stains! The room was spacious and the bed was so comfy that I had to drag my wife out of bed - we were late checking out because she didn’t want to leave but the staff was very understanding. A friend suggested a hotel that was close but it was more expensive than the Empress, not as conveniently located a none of the old school charm. We went to the tea shoppe before our sitting for high tea and I loved that I was given a’cheat sheet’ to assist me and my wife in choosing our tea. I look forward to a return visit.

Typically good value, though seasonal rates sometimes spike. I stay there often for work, never had a complaint. Rooms are always clean, good service, plenty of stores and restaurants within walking distance. And it's about as close to the highway as you can get - great for folks catching a ferry at Swartz Bay.

This is an excellent B&B. Terrific Victorian decor. Great parking. The breakfasts are the best ever. Highly recommend!
