Great older property that reminds you of a classic beach club. Nice restaurants and the staff is great. Beautiful beach access and thebrooms are very spacious. Great place to stay before a cruise.

The beach is quite a distance..especially if you have any health issues. They have a small amount of longe chairs under one big tarp. All these chairs are on top of each other. You can not move your chair. It is a very long walk to the actual water. They have beach chairs and umbrellas close to water but you have to pay for them..umbrella and 2 chairrs avg $65...so needless to say i was stuck at pools. Adult pool just ok...other pool loud with kids. Also no bar or food service...must get your own. No cash accepted so everything gets charged to your room. Shower has no water pressure. Other than that its not bad..i wouldnt return because of the beach. Parking is free..when we pulled up i asked the valet driver if it was free, to confirm, and he said yes but you must tip. That i thought was rude...of course i would tip. Again beach situation is horrible.

Really enjoyable stay at Lago Mar. Very reasonable prices, spacious rooms and comfy beds. Resort is clean, large with lots of complimentary activities, pickle ball, table tennis, mini golf and is right on the beach which is beautiful. Breakfast is $21 each adult and $9(i think) per child and is a buffet style and lovely. As per other reviews, rooms could do with being updated but they are clean and comfy. Highly recommend.

Great place. Only one issue that didn’t get resolved. When you order food at the bar to go they just place in bags with room numbers to pick up. After a bit at the pool I went and grabbed brought upstairs to room to eat later. Somehow I got some of my order in one bag and the other bag had some else’s garbage in it. They were done eating and left it there so it’s was inadvertent but I never got my refund. Called front desk twice they transferred me to that bar but no one picked up so I was a bit frustrated there. Other than that place is great. Great food too so that made it worse not getting it.

Brought my 2 high school aged sons here in late June. We were here for AAU wrestling nationals at the convention center. Awesome location. The private beach was great and clean. Never a lot of people there which was a nice suprise. The adult pool was always quiet even when there were several people which was also rare. Servers came around every 20mins or so to take orders. My girlfriend went for a massage at the spa one day. She said it was one of the best she'd ever had, and she's been a massage therapist for 15years. Parking garage was very convenient and free, which compared to other hotels in the area was great. The food at the restaurants and breakfast was a bit above average but nothing to write home about. The rooms were clean. There are no ice machines. You have to go to the front desk an ask for ice, which seemed weird. We ended up just figuring out where the ice machine was hidden, and got it ourselves instead of bothering the workers. We had little coolers in the room for our things we took to the wrestling competitions each day. One thing to be aware of that was not listed: they charge your card $75 for every day that youre staying upon checking in. This is because anything you want to buy or rent there gets charged to your room. Restaurants, cabanas, drinks, massages...anything. They will not let you buy anything with your own money. They say it's because everything is for guests and members and is to keep the public out. Will stay here again.

Lago Mar was amazing. The property is exquisite and extremely well maintained. Every staff member we encountered treated us like personal guests rather than customers. The hotel's private beach is stunning - day and night. I couldn't stop taking pictures!

We have stayed here many times. The cleaning staff, the front desk, security and definitely the pool and beach and bars staff are the absolute best. Our man from Hait from the bar and all the others make it feel like a home away from home.

We have stayed here many times before and always loved it! But this time things were VERY DIFFERENT! Instead of a hotel feel it was like a stuffy country club feel. They have a large group of “members” and they act like the hotel guests are mere peasants!! We spend a lot of money when we travel! Eat, drink, rent 2 large suites yet still got treated like 2nd class citizens!! Also the rooms & bathrooms really need an update!!! The staff for the pool & bars are awesome but that’s it!!! Everyone else has a rude attitude. I will NEVER RETURN after going here for over 14 yrs! Very sad!!!!
