Motel 6 cancels reservations of hurricane evacuees
I had two rooms booked through hotels.com because me and my family, along with my elderly father, had to evacuate the east coast due to hurricane Milton. I had even spoken with the general manager two days prior that I was definitely coming. She said no problem. After driving over 7 hours in bumper to bumper traffic, we arrived at the hotel and they had canceled my reservations that day and gave them to other guests. What a way to leave a family and an elderly man with no chance to use their hotel. They never even called to tell us. I had to scramble because everywhere that had affordable prices was booked solid, due to so many evacuee’s. I got lucky and was able to find two rooms about 45 minutes north of motel 6, but it was in a very rough and dangerous neighborhood. They should be embarrassed about what they did to my family and so many more.

It felt like I was more of an issue than anything when checking in, like how dare I stop their conversation to check in. When I got to my room, there were cigarette ashes all over the seat. I didn’t stay that night, I took the loss on the money and found another hotel. The room smelled horrible and obviously hadn’t been cleaned.

I was evacuating hurricane Milton. Got the welcome reservation Email around 2 pm and I arrived around 7pm to find out they overbooked. They turned me around plus 2 others parties I believe they don’t deserve any business from anyone because they prove me they will overbook even on state of emergency situation. Which left me with no options but to stay in my car because everything was sold out. Horrible stay away!!!

Fleas in the bed, shoes sticking to the dirty floor and front desk staff rude! The pictures are not what the place looks like, very rundown and scuzzy people living there and very unsafe at night with some interesting people that show up and knock on your door looking for drugs! I stayed there because of evacuating for hurricane Milton and booked for three nights, I left a day early because I couldn't stay there another night, I went home with no power and that was better than a flea infested room!

Made reservations for 2 days, because of hurricane in advance and when we got there at 1pm they said couldn't do anything till 3,so we waited until 3 and then they told me the reservations were canceled, they had my credit card number and I had a confirmation number, not very good business never will consider staying there.

Disgusted! I made reservations for 3 rooms because my family of 10 were evacuated from a hurricane. We had one mentally handicapped, one physically handicapped, a 5 year old child and 2 dogs. This terrible motel gave all of our rooms away as we drove 4 hours to what we thought was safety and comfort. I do not recommend this place at all. We were left high and dry without a place to go. I’m so angry. Thanks for nothing.

Canceled without notice during hurricane!
Hotel canceled my reservation while I was en route, evacuating my home due to a pending hurricane. It would have been helpful to have a warning when booking that reservation is not guaranteed if not paid in full at time of reservation, although “reservation” literally means that I am reserving a room. Additionally, it might have been helpful to receive a cancellation notice by text or email, rather than being told on arrival, after a five hour drive. Luckily, I was able to secure a much nicer accommodation elsewhere, so my dogs and I weren’t forced to sleep in my car during a hurricane.

Since we did not prepay for our confirmed reservation Motel 6 cancelled it without notifying us and gave our confirmed/reserved room to someone who prepaid with their credit card. This forced us to drive 110 miles back home in which was under hurricane evacuation orders.

The place was dirty, roaches in the room, broken furniture, mold, and rust. While our trip was precipitated by an evacuation order, there is no reason to rent rooms that should not be rented. We paid a lower rate because it was available at the time of booking. It was clear at check-in that people who paid higher rates for the same rooms received rooms as advertised. We did not. Shame on the owner!

I booked a room at motel 6 and received a confirmation number and even paid the extra $12 safety secure payment. I drove 7 hours evacuating from fort myers hurricane Milton, with 3 dogs in the car. This was the last pet friendly place I could find. I get there and the lady at the front desk told me it’s no longer available and that they sold my room to someone else! I found another crappy place to stay for the 2 nights, that was more money and now I expect someone to pay me back for having to go through all this and driving an extra hour to get to this other place
