Nothing at all to complain about regarding the hotel, it was excellent, but just note that the bay and the tide makes it not ideal for swimming/bathing at all times. But on the other hand, there is a looong pool available, so if the idea is to exercise swimming, this pool was excellent.

Treetop by Eight Continents Zanzibar exceeded all our expectations. It is an excellent choice for solo travellers, couples and families, and in my opinion, this resort is seriously underrated. From the moment we stepped onto the hotel premises, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was friendly, kind and attentive throughout our stay. A special thank you to Ally, who helped my wife organise a beautiful surprise dinner for us by the beach. It was an unforgettable experience and showed just how far the staff are willing to go to make their guests feel special. The entire hotel was extremely clean and well maintained, and the food was absolutely amazing. The resort is also very family-friendly, with a dedicated kids’ zone to keep children entertained while parents relax and enjoy their holiday. The prices were surprisingly affordable for the quality of the accommodation, service and overall experience. The photographs online do not do this place justice at all. Seeing the hotel in person was mind-blowing—it was even more beautiful and impressive than the pictures suggested. Treetop by Eight Continents Zanzibar truly deserves a five-star rating. We had an incredible stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zanzibar.

We had a lovely and memorable stay at Upendo Beach Boutique Hotel. The location is simply beautiful, with breathtaking views and a peaceful ambiance. The staff were exceptional—especially Theo, who was incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. Although I made an error in my booking by reserving the two-bedroom villa for only two adults, the hotel management showed great understanding. They kindly offered a generous solution by asking us to cover only 50% of the additional amount, which we truly appreciated. The villa itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. The entire property is well-maintained and provides a wonderful boutique experience. One recommendation: it would be great if a pool heater could be added, as the water can be quite chilly in July. Overall, we enjoyed our time very much and thank the team for their hospitality!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The food was decent. The quality itself didn’t feel amazing. I think they missed chances for excellent dining such as carving tables or omelet station. They could’ve had more selection and it was difficult to get into the restaurants. The hotel itself is newer very clean and well-maintained especially coming from Stonetown. It’s perfectly nice for a Westerner. I wish there was more entertainment. There was some nights that there was basically no entertainment and there’s not a lot of amenities for entertainment such as multiple pool tables or club, etc. The overall vibe was laid back. The beach itself was nice with plenty of options for guests and multiple pools. There were a few kids and mainly travelers from Europe and South Africa. I thought security would stop local vendors from hounding you but they didn’t. Overall I didn’t regret my stay but I might look elsewhere next time.

The property is amazing. The restaurant needs improvement in terms of variety and quality of pastries, especially. Breakfast was just fine. Extra services are in my opinion, over priced.
