Beware the corporate nature of this property. Don't expect a customer centric experience. For example, when you arrive, you will be required to pay in full for your stay. During this process you will be offered the option to pay in CHF or US$. If you are tired and not paying attention after a long trip, you may select US$ which comes with a terrible exchange rate compared to choosing the CHF option. In other words, choosing a foreign currency materially increases the cost of your stay. I spoke with the manager of the property regarding the practice. He said he makes sure people make their own choice and instructs his employees to never make the choice for the guest. Unfortunately for trusting foreign guests, employees will also not tell you that If you choose to pay in a foreign currency, you will receive a terrible exchange rate. They are completely silent on this fact. This lack of transparency illustrates the property's corporate rather than customer focus. Fortunately, there are other properties that don't practice this lack of transparency and treat guests like valued friends. I'm not suggesting that you avoid this property. It is a clean property, with a good breakfast, and a magnificent view. I am sharing with you that this property takes a win/lose approach to foreign customers rather than a win/win approach.

Nice hotel in Grindelwald. About a 10-15 minute walk to the town area for shops and restaurants. Easy parking behind the hotel. Decent breakfast options. Beds were comfy. Room a bit warm and no AC, but a fan was provided. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains from the balcony.

Great Stay in Gorgeous Grindelwald

The hotel was very cosy, quite cool inside even in the middle of August. From our room 15, we had a great view over the mountains. The front desk isn’t always manned, so you can only check in from 16:00 and have to leave by 11:30. There’s also no bar or restaurant at the hotel, despite the website description. Although there are a lot of choices in Grindelwald itself. Parking ya the hotel is plentiful and easy. Although walking to and from the hotel maybe difficult for those less able.

Amazing views. The facility is decent and their included breakfast is nice, but we had some large stains on our carpet. Transportation is limited to buses and taxi and the buses stop running at 7 PM. The short walk that Google maps is using is super steep and with heavy luggage is very difficult. Best option from the train station is a 25CHF taxi trip or a bus ride with a shorter walk with less of an incline from the bus stop.

Loved our room and views, staff were great, breakfast was delicious and included! It is a hike to town which we did daily but one would want to be in good health. It’s a bit of a climb up from town. The walk has breathtaking views and well worth it.

Feels like an authentic Swiss Alps experience!

This is our second visit - we can’t imagine a more enthralling view. The rooms are rustic and comfortable with plenty of storage. The balcony view is incredible and the large patio is perfect for experiencing the restoring views and sounds of birds and the rushing river. The included breakfast buffet is perfect as well. Our only wish is that this would be a smoke-free property. Several people were smoking on their balconies which ruined the smell of fresh alpine air.
