The first red flag was that the list of add ons presented after choosing the room included a microwave. At this price point a microwave should be a standard amenity. The next surprise was that I received an email immediately after booking to explain that there was no self park available- valet parking was available for around $30 per day. This hotel seems more focused on how to squeeze it's guest for the most money rather than their comfort and convenience. Check in was smooth, but they put me in an ADA compliant suite when I had requested the non ADA suite. The room was clean and I didn't think much about it until it was time for bed. Apparently the bed in the ADA room has been lowered by removing the box springs or platform support. The mattress was horrible- feeling sunken in a couple spots and not comfortable- and the pull out sofa bed was one of the worst I have ever tried I requested a new room the next morning and was given a regular suite. This bed was much better, but the room was dirty. There were food crumbs on the floor, my shoes were sticking to places on the floor as I walked through, there was hair on the bathroom counter and bedsheets. I called and asked for housekeeping to clean the room and was told they would send someone up shortly. No one ever came to clean the room. Luckily we were only there for the weekend.

My experience was nice and could have been better. I was able to find free parking but was not happy with the following: -No mircowave in the room -No bath tub -No room service -Holding my 100 deposit for 3-7 days, instead of releasing it at check out.

We have stayed at a few Margaretville properties. We expected more. We acknowledge it is low season but that doesnt mean that service and amenities should be less. The staff was lack luster, wait times were long, calls for room service didnt get answered, vallet didnt bother to open doors or greet us at all. First time we have not tipped much of anything. Great location and if all the things I mentioned above were spot on we would stay again.

All of the staff except for one were outstanding. The room was spotless and the view was stunning. Our room, #402 was poorly maintained. The lovely work desk with the chargers and outlets did’t work at all. I thought it was an outlet issue since other outlets in the room didn’t work. Staff brought me a 10+ ft extention cord that did work, so I was able to work eventually. The lights all connected to the master outlet in the entry and another master switch was near the bedroom. So the person that sleeps on the thin, lumpy, squeaky sofa bed can’t turn the bedside lamp on and off unless they get out bed and walk into the entry or near the bedroom. The shower was tiny so you can’t shower with the showerhead unless you want to get your hair wet - you can’t step back anywhere. The hand held shower head doesn’t fit in the holder so you have to hold it in tour hand. The furnace clangs on and off and the fan is incredibly loud. We thought it was an alarm of some kind the first time. We didn’t sleep well due to the noise. The king bed was very comfortable and clean but the sofa bed was really way overdue for a decent sofabed mattress. We reported everything and we were told by the staff that brought us the long heavy duty red extension cord that a maintenence man would visit and make all of the repairs but it was a lie.
This is rthe extension cord I was given so that I could work at the desk since the desk didn’t have power in the outlets or chargers.
