Stayed here just for one night on a western Canada road trip. For being downtown, the area felt well maintained and fairly safe. The hotel itself is old - small door frames, short toilet. Considering the age, everything worked perfectly and the space was perfect for our family. Two separate rooms with the joint bathroom was a huge pro for us. Would stay again for sure! Also they gave us free beer at the adjoining restaurant!

I’ve been to the plaza many times. This time the hotel had new management from before the pandemic, my last visit). There was a bit of a mix up at first with a room facing the river. Once they straightened it out I was comfortable. The second night I was supposed to upgrade to a suite because I wanted to treat myself. The next morning I went to inquire, and the suite had be booked to someone else. I was disappointed but made the most of my long weekend getaway I spite of it all.

Checked in late, at around 1:00 am all I wanted was to shower and get some sleep. Got to the room found the bed had been slept in and not remade, dirty towel in the tub and refuse from the previous occupant, so f'ing disgusted layed on the bed used my back pack for a pillow and slept in my clothes. Absolutely ridiculous, will never return and will definitely warn anyone who is traveling through Kamloops to avoid at all cost. I cannot describe in respectable language how disgusted and upset I am. If the deposit isn't returned by end of day tomorrow I will be contacting the hotel and filing a complaint with the city about that place and have it inspected before allowing to rent a room to anyone.

The property is noisy and old with lots of homeless in the area. The buffet breakfast was terrible recycled food. I would not recommend this property.

We checked into this room and immediately left, the room was terrible, the sheets were dirty, the pillow cases were yellow, the wall paper was filthy and peeling off, the bath was dripping and not draining away so there was an inch of dirty water in the bottom and the curtains were way to small for the window and were held together with bulldog clips letting a lot of light in. Outside of the terrible room the car park was frequented by about 6 drug addicts leaning on the cars. The car park was very tight and also used by the very busy liquor store under hotel, I didn’t feel my hire car would be safe there overnight. Under the hotel there is also a bar that had very loud music on with a lot of drunk people in. Also in the bar is an unlocked door that leads to the hotel lobby and stairs where I saw a few people walk through and up the stairs without any challenge from the reception staff, I felt this was very unsafe having children with me. When complaining about all of this I was told there were no other rooms available so we decided to leave, we weren’t offered any of the money back but decided it was worth loosing the money and staying somewhere else. On returning to The UK I complained on 4 separate occasions to Expedia as this hotel is not as they advertised, I haven’t had any replies on the first 3 attempts, today I was told the hotel offered us other rooms and accommodation in a partner hotel, this was a complete lie, why would I have turned down this option?

My recent experience at the Plaza hotel in downtown Kelowna was not a good one. The Plaza is an older hotel, has been kept in good condition, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The problem was extremely noisy guests in nearby rooms. Kids screaming and yelling, slamming doors, and running up and down the hallway. The walls in the Plaza must be paper thin because we heard everything. The excess noise started around 10:00 PM when they checked in and lasted until 2:00 AM until we phoned the front desk to complain and have someone come up and ask them to quiet down. Also, the hotel advertises self parking is available, but they charge $8:00 a day which wasn’t noted on Expedia or their website. Overall, we didn’t have a very good experience.

DO NOT BELIEVE any positive review on this MOTEL, they must be bots or paid reviews. No free parking outside and I really think this is the go to motel for homeless individuals. No insult intended but this is a very dingy motel. We booked but more than happy to let that money go and stayed at Hilton instead. It was that bad! I’m sure my review will be drowned by fake good reviews.

We didnt like anything about the property. It was located in the older area of Kamloops, which appeared to be dark and unsafe, The hotel was nowhere close to what was shown on the website. My daughter called me in tears five minutes after entering the hotel. I am extremely disappointed in Expedia for promoting this hotel.

2 main issues in room 401! There was NO shower curtain (how did housekeeping miss that?) so had to lean against the wall of the shower and direct the shower head spray there to keep the water from going all over the floor. Also, the water did not drain from the tub and I was soon standing in 3 or 4 inches of water. Breakfast was not good despite some good reviews I had read. There was virtually no hash browns or eggs when we arrived The fellow half filled the container and 5 couples and 2 groups of 3 were left to share it (or not) Quantity was severely lacking and it was not hot. Coffee also not hot.

It was an ok stay if you need a bed for the night but if your trying to sleep maybe ask if there's space on the top floor or somewhere away from the lounge downstairs as they were blasting music till 12:30am. Not bad for price but just think about those things when booking.

I cry a little for the Plaza's condition.

Pros: Pleasant and efficient desk staff, Delicious pub style dinner with included alcoholic drink, very friendly & helpful young gentleman waiter. Public areas of historic building well kept. Cons: (why I cry a little) Our king bed room had several small easily remedied maintenance issues - one side curtain missing entirely, the other side curtain hanging by 1 hook which just needed the little track eyes for the rest of the hooks. Vintage/antique style furniture paint was badly chipped - just needed a little bit of colour to cover those marks. The TV remote would not turn the TV on/off or do volume (the other buttons worked although we had to do the volume/on/off commands using buttons on the front of the TV.) The roller blind did not stay at the spot you rolled it to, but had to be fully rolled to the top or puddled on the sill completely rolled down. Good thing the windows actually open because we had to turn the thermostat down to 50F, run the fan, and open the window 6 inches and keep it that way all afternoon and overnight to cool the room down from 78F (the temp when we arrived.) The Plaza is such an historic and beautiful old building with a neat original 1920's Otis 3 person elevator and beautiful original wood floors and I really hate to see it come into disrepair when it could be (and has been) so much more. As a Wyndham property I implore you, please get on top of daily simple maintenance tasks to improve customer satisfaction and bring her back to her heyday
