Although the property was clean, we were unable to check in until almost 4 o’clock. The poor lady had a lobby full of people waiting to check in and only a select number of rooms available due to the housekeeping being backed up. They were able to provide us one of the rooms at around four, making us late to our event by the time we showered and left the hotel. There were several of us in the group hence the reason we rent more than one room. Prior to leaving for our event around 5, I went back to the front desk to check on the status of the second room, and it was still unavailable. The lady working, then was different from the one when we originally checked in and gave us the excuse that they had a lot of people check out this morning. Which leaves me to believe management did not plan to have adequate staff covering for housekeeping.
First let me say the front desk staff was awesome. Now the housekeeper staff needs a lot of work. I think it's crazy that if you put your do not disturb, sign on your door the night before and take it off at 9:00 in the morning. You do not get service. I left my hotel room around 9:00 a.m. and when I came back my room was not serviced. I had no towels or anything. I was told that because I had to sign up when they came in and started their shift that my room automatically didn't get service. That to me is incorrect. If you're a housekeeper when you go to that room to service it. If it at that point in time has the do not disturb sign on the door then the room does not get service. This is from a former housekeeper so when me and my husband left that morning they hadn't even got close to our room. They were all the way down the hall. Not only that, the room needed a more close inspection as I will put a picture below to show you what I'm talking about.
Checked in and entered my room which someone had items in it already and there were wine bottles and towels everywhere. Went downstairs to address it and they took awhile figuring out what rooms were available, clean, and actually available again
Floor was seeping fluids. Cleaned it and it came right back. Requested non-handicap room and was told hotel was sold out and I could get was a handicapped room. Bed was like a brick.
