2 locations very confusing

The staff was fine and the hotel fine but it was VERY confusing and deceitful having 2 hotels named essentially the same thing where one was a 2 min walk from the airport and the other a traffic filled 40 min drive to the other side or “old” airport. Wyndham needs to change the name of one to be more clear to customers

It is very deceiving that it says it is right next to the airport. It is right next to the OLD airport that is now shut down. Staff was great, breakfast was great, shuttle service was not dependable. After waiting 30 min past scheduled arrival we ordered an uber and were at the airport in 10 min.

This hotel is NOT at the new airport; it requires a shuttle ride to the airport. What they claim is a shirt ride took us more than an hour in traffic. The hotel is decrepit and not being maintained by Wyndham. The shower drain clogged, flooding the bathroom and getting the room carpet wet.

The stay was okay. Breakfast at 4am is good for early travels but there were very few options available at 4am. The shuttle service is nice but there is a smoking section right next to the shuttle so while we were sitting in the shuttle and the doors are wide open, there were 2 older men chain smoking cigarettes and the smoke would flow straight into the shuttle. The shuttle didn't leave every 30mins like it said. It left 10 mins late so we sat there for an extra 10 minutes with the cigarette smoke billowing in. There are other entrances/exits so why not move the smoking section away from the shuttle parking? Bathroom shower had a bit of mold. Property seems understaffed. Check-in lines can get long, and there seemed to be only 1 server covering the whole restaurant.

Wyndham has two “airport” hotels called Costa del Sol… one at the new terminal and one at the old terminal. We were at the old terminal location. Although they do provide a van, we waited 20 minutes in the van before driving and it took 40 minutes to drive 5 miles to the hotel! And there is nothing near this hotel.

Location is misleading. On the map it looks like it would be easy to the airport. It’s located next to the old airport and is a long (40 minutes in traffic) shuttle ride. The Wyndham Grand Costa del Sol is the new one that is walkable from the new airport. Having both properties with almost same name is confusing. I never would have booked this hotel if I knew how long it would take it to get to the airport for a super early flight.

The hotel was lovely. Staff was extremely polite, attentive, helpful. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. I enjoyed dinner immensely - the food as well as the service. Breakfast left a bit to be desired. It was OK but nothing really memorable.
