Great hotel.

Great hotel. Very pleasant reception staff. Comfy bed and room very clean. Will stay again whenever I'm in the area. At least Hotels.com have taken down the inaccurate impression that this hotel has an indoor swimming pool as it does not.

Friends had stayed here year in year out. Their reviews; such as luxury, "you'll enjoy, it"cosy, etc. Sold it for me. Alway's booked up. I managed to get in this year but I'm afraid to say. I was extremely disappointed. 1) The hotel seemed shortstaffed. 2) Reception swapped from being receptionist to 'bell boy.' She hardly spoke 2 words, unless prompted. Not even a smile. 3) To order room service was like 'drawing blood from a stone.' Meaning they tried everything to get us to come down. So food delayed each time 30-40mins.4) Food extremely expensive for what it was. It lacked flavour, creativity. ex; I asked for Spinach omelette. Wondered where the spinach was. Unfolded the omelette voila! 3 small raw spinach 🍃. The food was extremely dry. 5) The kids meal, tagliatelle in tomato sauce, was yuk! My son wouldn't eat it. When I tasted it. The sauce wasnt cooked out properly and it was bitter! 6) Two different desserts, same taste and looked the same! 7)Two bottles of water in room fridge. Little in the way of tea, coffee selection. 8) Booked for 2. Child & adult. Child they treat as an adult. Yet, 1 dressing gown, 1 pair of slippers. Rang Rm Service. NOA. 9) Night food tray. There til we came back in the next day. Tried to ring for collection. NOA. Same with breakfast tray. 10) No condiments in the tray. Salt, pepper. Most of the food, not covered. Really 😮! The room had no "frills, bells or whistles!" Nothing to write home about, infact I wished i stayed home for the price!

Lovely stay, amazing views on the 7th floor. Best shower of my life. Parking costs were incorrect on the welcome email, and it couldve have helped to have the process explained better on this email.

Our stay started really well. The reception team were very friendly and check-in was smooth. The room was a good size, the bed was fine, and we slept well. The bar was a small letdown as the advertised beer wasn’t available on either the first or second night. Breakfast on the first morning was excellent – fresh food, great cappuccino, and very attentive service. Unfortunately, the second morning was the opposite. We were checked into the breakfast room by Roni, who was quite miserable and didn’t smile or greet us properly. While I was getting food, another staff member asked if we had checked in. I said yes politely, but he came back again a few minutes later to ask the same thing, which felt odd and unnecessary – he should have just asked Roni. The staff that morning seemed stressed and disorganised. No one asked if we wanted drinks; we had to find someone ourselves. The food wasn’t as fresh – pastries and black pudding were hard. To top it off, we were charged £18 per day for parking, even though our email clearly said the discounted rate was £12. That left us feeling quite frustrated. What started as a great stay unfortunately ended in disappointment. This place has potential, but consistency and better communication are needed.

Got to the hotel and told that both my friends and my room were upgraded because our original rooms were overbooked. Got to my room, it was upgraded. My friend got to their room, not upgraded. Called the front desk to ask about the upgrade, and they said they didnt say both were upgraded. They blatantly lied to us. Their customer service is very lacking. Asked the front desk if they had a pair of a scissors we cpuld borrow because my wife wanted to cut a piece of thread of her clothing. The guy says, they have scissors but cant let us use them. Lol. Why even mention you have scissors if ypu won't lwt someone use them? And whats the big deal about someone usint them for literally 10 seconds? This place has a long way to go to make the guest feel welcome.

This is the best hotel we have stayed in excellent staff, beautiful well equipped rooms, fabulous shower, great breakfast. Slightly longer walk to the shops but the quality of the hotel made it worth it. Will be booking again.
