Lovely older style hotel. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant and breakfast was great with many choices and the waitress was super friendly. Room was clean and comfy. We enjoyed our one night stay.

Its a lovely clean well decorated hotel , the staff were very pleasant and accommodating, and the breakfast option were very good.. I know its an old and historic hotel and because of this I am not sure if its a listed building but it really could do with a lift for the disabled/people with balance issue.

Perfect for our family celebration.
Great place to stay, feels like a family run place and all staff are lovely. Several of us travelled to Waterloo to stop for a family party. We were looked after very well and enjoyed a walk down to the water front.

We had a really nice stay here. The hotel was good - the staff were really helpful and friendly - the breakfast was very good - nice relaxed bar. The hotel location is perfect for walking to the Anthony Gormley statues. The hotel is also only 5 minutes walk to the station from where there are trains every 15 minutes to central Liverpool and trains every 15 minutes to Formby/Southport. Also trains to Sandhills if you are going to either of the football stadia (Soccerbus from Sandhills, great service). In 4 days we didn't use our car once as the transport links are so easy. The hotel is also very historic itself (200 years old, Grade 2 listed). We had a great break and hope to stay in the same hotel again.
