Not very good

Firstly, I was given a 'disabled' room which meant the bath was far too small for the average person to use. The stability bar in the shower is then too close to the shower head to have a comfortable shower. The systern drips for about 20 minutes after flushing the toilet, so I have to close the bathroom door each time. The bed sheets are too small for the bed. the mattress was exposed under the pillows. The room, being on the ground floor and at the front of the hotel meant that I couldn't put the blind up due to the lack of privacy. The window didn't have net curtains either. Sitting at the desk to work was an issue due to the lack of plug sockets near the desk. Breakfast is ok, although the scrambled egg was hard - and that was at the beginning of service. The room and hotel is quite tatty and not to the standard of other Village Hotels that I have stayed in. The only positive was that the TV in the room was quite big and it worked! I wont be recommending this hotel and wont be returning

Disabled parking spaces were being used by Spuddies customers who were using the takeaway. Struggled to find a space in car park and had difficulty getting out of car because of my disability. Quite a distance to hotel from car park. I got the impression that the Gym and Fitness Facilities are the part of the business that is making most money and the hotel is suffering because of this. I detest Self Check In, no service at all in a service industry? I guess thats the world we live in now. I wouldnt recommend nor return to this hotel, it pretends to be something that it isnt.

Made great by its staff and leisure centre.

Excellent hotel, and the staff were all very helpful, friendly and polite. Our stay was fantastic. The hotel has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna which we were able to use for a small extra. The breakfast was plentiful and very good. It is a dated hotel though, so the bathroom wasn't great (our shower had poor pressure as the taps kept running even with the shower on) and the rooms could have been a bit cleaner. Breakfast is only til 9 too so a bit rushed in the morning.

Great hotel good facilities but looking dated

Nice hotel with great facilities but rooms are looking a little dated and old fashioned. Bed was comfortable and room was reasonably spacious but looked a little rough round the edges. Breakfast was OK with normal selection of items but a little uninspiring.

Very friendly helpful staff on checkin and checkout. Rooms clean and comfortable and family room was spacious. Leisure facilities good, pool times with 10 year old slightly disappointing but totally understandable why they have this in place!
