I want to start by saying the room itself was clean, the bed comfortable and the air conditioner worked great. That said, the overall experience was challenging and left us feeling uneasy. The hallways and stairwells were noticeably dirty, likely due to high traffic, and the surrounding area felt unsafe. I’m from a similar neighborhood myself, but I don’t travel to revisit those conditions—I travel to feel safe and relaxed. If I had brought my own car instead of a rental, I would’ve been up all night watching it. When I reserved the room, I booked it for four people. However, when we arrived, there were only three towels in the room. After spending the day at Michigan’s Adventure—sweating, swimming, and being in the sun—we all needed showers. Having to go downstairs to request an extra towel before we could even settle in was frustrating. It wasn't a short walk, it felt unnecessary, especially since our reservation already indicated four guests. It wasn’t like we were trying to hide anyone. Another issue was with the room keys. On both days, our keys didnt working. The first day, we had to go back to the front desk to get them activated. The second day, after returning from Michigan’s Adventure around 6 PM, the same thing happened again. We were told it might be because the keys were near our phones, which I understand—but my sister’s key had been left in the car, untouched, and hers didn’t work either. It made us feel like the keys were being reset inte

I do not recommend this hotel

This hotel was run down and the exterior was filthy and unkempt. Cigarette butts everywhere. Leaky coffee cups. No amenities in room only got 1 small soap and shampoo. Large rat trap directly outside back door in plain sight. Room smelled stagnant.

Nothing unique at all. The property was supposedly to have been renovated but if you call sloppily painting molding with paint drips on the floor “renovated” then I guess you’ll be satisfied. Also when we got to our room there was a slimy red film in the bathroom sink ant it backed up when using it, and when the manager (not even a maintenance person) came to “fix” it, they plunged the pipes which “plunged” into the next door bathroom sink (which our daughter was staying in) and it blew all the CRAP through the pipes up through the sink and all over the bathroom, even to the ceiling! Bottom line, I would never stay here again, this is absolutely not a renovated hotel

Received a call around 8:45pm inquiring if we were still planning on checking in, I confirmed and told the staff we would be there in an hour as we were at dinner. Upon arrival the front desk said it was a new system and was having issues. He moved to a different computer, claiming there were just 15 rooms left but they aren’t showing anymore and there must be a glitch in the system. Asked us to wait while he figured it out. Offered us 2 king rooms instead of our booked 2 queens room. We said as long as it was adjoining. He got on the phone with the manager and tried giving us one king room and they would try to figure out the other room once the manager arrived. We opted in not waiting any longer and went home instead. The front desk was initially kind but didn’t understand our frustrations with the issue. After speaking to a guest who had been there longer, the guest told us they knew that morning they were overbooked, they ended up giving our room to someone else. Nothing like having to drive 2hrs home and not getting in until after midnight to end what was supposed to be a nice family vacation. In addition, the room had recently been remodeled however there was hair in the bedding, its right off a busy road so it’s fairly noisy, and there were people working on vehicles outside, and smoking pot. We know this because friends of ours checked in so we saw the rooms, they ended up leaving and driving home once we didn’t get a room.

Room was fine, other than the bathroom didn’t look like it had gotten clean. There were little hairs all around the sink, we killed a cockroach crawling on the inside of our door, and housekeeping never knocked before keying into our room. They just walked in.

put some bushes or something in front of the windows so they can be opened without people in their cars smoking looking right inside, or at least provide enough artificial light inside the room. please try to get rid of the mold smell.

Awful exterior, ok interior, free roaches

Check-in was smooth and the clerk was nice. The room looked recently renovated and appeared clean but there were roaches. I’m glad I didn’t notice them until we were about to check out. I would have been too creeped out if I’d seen them earlier. Just hoping none hitched a ride in my suitcase. The exterior is awful, especially from the back side, which is the way we came in. This route also gave a lovely view of the neighborhood’s dilapidated and vacant buildings and plentiful liquor stores.
