It was VERY expensive! and the check in at 4 pm! I"m traveling for years... never saw a check in so late. we had to wait until 4 pm at 4 pm at the desk, the lady said... let me check if the room is ready (!) and we had to wait again never again we ll go to a Best Western

This hotel is nice, the staff have great customer service, the pool is nice and clean. The gym could be nicer with more up to date equipment and open for longer hours (5:00-11:00 perhaps). This hotel is not walkable to the shopping area Quay. It would be nice if there was an option to include breakfast in the cost of the room. I recommend this hotel if you are ever in Port Alberni. Or driving to Tofino and want to stop in for a break to a city that is a bit more cost effective.

This hotel was overpriced for just run of the mill hotel. I paid $414.00 for 2 queens, not even a complimentary bottle of water for that price. The pool was outdoors, advertised as heated and it was cold water. No breakfast included but got a 20% off coupon on over priced breakfast. Upon check in wasn't directed to the hot tub or gym or the pool or what floors ice etc were on. The pillows were lumpy. All in all the stay would have been satisfactory but when yiu pay over $400 for a hotel a person does expect more. Port Alberni is a small community with not much going on. Price goughing at it's best. I was told that the prices were so high because it was high vacation season and Tofino is close to Port Alberni, not for the quality of the hotel, service or amenities, just close to Tofino.
